okay.... i'm going to attempt to describe my issue to the best of my ability without sounding completely nuts...here it goes:
So I've almost always worn boxers-- even before i knew i knew what transitioning was-- and not until about two years ago had i worn any other kind of underwear since my childhood. I've been wearing men's boxer briefs occasionally to better hold my packer and its device. This isn't often, but only when it seems necessary to me (when the lack of a dick is especially apparent), i.e. in gym shorts, tux pants, swim trunks, ect..

Okay, so what's the problem when it comes to wearing boxer briefs, right? lol follow me here...
Due to my job and a general desire to appear more mature, I've been tucking in my shirts almost daily. Idk if this happens with anyone else, but please forgive me if it's TMI: tucking in my shirts have never been comfortable because after I adjust it my boxers ride up.. i'm sure you know what i mean  😮 So i've contemplated wearing boxer briefs on a regular basis to possibly avoid this problem because they don't have that seam down the center like boxers do.

Here's where I'm a little weird: I don't like wearing boxer briefs without a packer because the material is up against the genitals I don't want to have causing dysphoria. I'm curious, am i the only one that this happens to? Do boxer briefs/briefs remind anyone of those terrible days as a child when we were forced to wear "panties"? And does anyone know any coping methods-- for lack of a better term-- to help deal with this discomfort-- because I really would like to cease riding the irritating boxer seam on a near daily basis...

Sorry, I'd say no. Although, I wasn't one to grow up wearing boxers all the time so perhaps that's part of it. And maybe my sexuality plays a slight role in this as well but I just have always found boxers to be so not flattering on anyone that I've never had any desire to wear them. Boxer-briefs are my number one go to and I honestly never feel better than when I can lounge around in just them and I don't even pack. Feels sexy and masculine to me.

I plan on buying even skimpier briefs after I can get a packer and eventually a jock-strap.

Yeah, I also feel a lot better in boxers than other types of underwear. I wouldn't say that boxer briefs remind me of panties, per se, but the fabric touching certain spots is a reminder that my bits aren't how I'd like them to be. I also really like the fact that boxers help to hide stuff: curvy hips, lack of bulge, etc.

Unfortunately, I don't really have any tips for coping with different styles. I work in a field where a casual dress code is the norm, so I never have to deal with stuff like tight pants or tucking in shirts that makes boxers inconvenient.

I don't know if you're going to dig this suggestion, but I have a remedy: Go commando.
Seriously. It's completely unrestrictive, you won't have to worry about anything riding up, you'll get stuck doing less laundry and it's healthier to let it breathe.

I've always worn boxer briefs since I thought I was trans. They are unbelievably comfortable and I agree with HOUSE; masculine af.

But I don't really have any bottom dysphoria. Although I did decide to try out a packer briefly and it made me feel hugely more dysphoric because it put more focus on that area. And because I missed it when I had to take it out; almost like I was losing a limb. So since not wearing one my dysphoria has become almost nonexistent again. So unfortunately you may want to try and not wearing a packer for a few days to see how you feel.

I don't really like boxer briefs.  I've never found them comfortable.  Not tight enough to hold a packer but not loose enough to be comfortable.  And they remind me too much of briefs which remind me of lady's underwear.  I actually don't pack because of this.  I just said screw it and wear my boxers. 

The way I look at it, cis men are allowed to have a micro penis, so why can't I?

I don't see boxer briefs as anything like panties. They're comfortable in comparison too... no edges with decorations on or whatever else made of coarser or irritating material. I don't notice them touching anything.

Is it possible there's some kind of boxers with the type of elastic that the briefs have? I haven't seen any but if they exist it might solve your issue.

No dysphoria here but there are brands of boxers with a sewn in oval shape at the crotch area. They tend to be cotton, white with buttons for some reason. Designer so more expensive. Not that I'm crazy about having a vagina but I do and I find that boxer briefs get warm and trap moisture which is not good for that area at all.

When I stopped wearing panties, I went to boxers because they were so freeing in comparison.  I've since moved onto boxer briefs when I go outside of home, and boxers around the house.  I buy cotton  boxer briefs that fit me a bit snug and hand-sew the front crotch completely shut.  The inside I sew until there's just enough of a slit to slide my packer in.  My packer has a flat back, so I place it against my pubic bone and I'm good to go.  I don't know what brand my packer is since it was a gift from a friend, but maybe you need a flat-back packer. 

I don't have much bottom dysphoria, so I can't help you there.

I've not had much problem with moisture being trapped either.

I had to look up boxer briefs because I am an idiot but, I've had no problem with them. Everyone ranges so don't feel like there is something wrong with you.

I haven't worn a packer and excuse me for this question but
how does one keep it in place?

  If you buy the right size boxer briefs (comfortably snug against your body but not tight), the sewn- shut crotch should help hold it against your body.  I've worn mine all day and have not had any problems.

I prefer to wear a packer when I go out.  It makes me feel just "that much more of a man", to have that bulge in my pants.  I'd eventually love to get a STP, but the packer I have now will do until I can finish clearing up my credit card for the one I want. [emoji6]

The Mr Limpy is a gone one to start off with (I think it's 3.5 or 4 inches). Funnily it was a few pounds cheaper buying it on a sex shop website than it was a website that sells things for trans people  ::). I found an stp helped with the dysphoria a lot more though. Although I had to stop using both as it caused me a lot more bottom dysphoria

I got mr limpy stp from a sex shop too and now I keep getting emails.. the joy of being asexual lol

My only concern is it falling out of my underwear..

Happened to me too  :D

As long as your boxer briefs are snug then it won't fall out. You can also buy harnesses from trans websites to keep it in place.

Or sew the crotch shut.  If done right, it'll stay in even if you jump around.

You can also buy underwear with a pouch sewn into the inside front to hold the packer in place so it doesn't fall out when using the washroom, getting changed, etc. Or you can DIY - there's tutorials on YouTube.

I don't wear boxers, but boxer briefs instead. I think they're awesome, fit well under trousers for work, and are really comfortable and stylish. If I'm wearing tighter ones, they hold a packer in place nicely. I would have a lot more trouble with the boxers in general for getting dressed for work or just an excess of loose fabric. Before I figured out I was trans, I wore female boxer briefs, so it's not a huge change, but these are definitely nicer. I do get some comfort just from knowing I'm wearing the boxer briefs, even if no one else knows.

I'm nonbinary partial transmale, so couldn't wear femme "panties." I solved my problem by designing my own simple boxer briefs, made from 4-way black stretch cotton, and only four seams, no hem. A seam down each side and one in the middle, where the crotch is, and one to run around the top, where I then thread in a thin piece of elastic.

One way I make them here in Thailand, which I can't buy stretch cotton, is to buy an inexpensive stretch black T-shirt, and cut out the brief using the sides of the T-shirt as the sides of the boxer shorts. the I just sew a seam at the crotch and around the top.

After I thread in the elastic, I can quickly shorten or lengthen the elastic as needed if I get bloated later on.
They're so comfortable I can hardly tell I'm wearing them, and they never ride up or bunch.

I grew up wearing boxers as they were masc like all the other guys. However when I got into wearing skinny jeans everything went south....somewhere along the line I turned to American apparel style briefs cuz they were kinda gender neutral. In the end though, I came around to boxer briefs too.

I think I started wearing them because I saw them all over magazines. Chiseled, modal men in boxer briefs looking really manly. I was also very dysphoric about my big thighs and stretch marks cuz they accentuated my hips and butt so briefs were never comfortable for me. My aim was always to be sexy in underwear and who's more attractive then Calvin klein modals?
I like to wear jockey long legged boxer briefs. They are so tight fitting that they smooth out all my curves and are long enough (almost down to my knees) that they don't ride up and packers can't fall down. They're also the breathable quick dry kind so sweat and smells don't fumigate my pants. But best of all, cuz they're really thin and tight I can't feel them once they're on. Nothing pinches or bunches but simultaneously aren't restricting either. Can you tell I'm in love with my underwear?

I'm the oddball in that boxers actually cause more dysphoria for me.

I'm a guy with insanely huge thighs and hips and a gigantic butt. Needless to say, passing is basically impossible with this build that T and weight loss have yet to help with. With boxers and even boxer briefs, if I buy the "correct" size, my thighs won't fit into them. And if they magically happen to work somehow, it's basically cutting off my circulation when I sit down. My thighs are THAT big. In order for my thighs to fit into the boxers/boxer briefs, I have to buy two sizes up, which leads to an insanely baggy crotch that hangs REALLY far down.
The way in which dysphoria comes from wearing these types of underwear is that fact that my thighs and hips and butt are so freaking huge that I actually can't wear them properly.

So instead, I wear briefs. They help hold my packer better anyway.

I used to feel the same way as you do about boxers, but I've found as I started passing better I became more confident in my underwear choices. In fact, lately I've been buying mostly briefs because they hold the EZP really well and I don't have to worry about my boxers riding up. I also really like boxer briefs for the colder weather and jockstraps when I go to the gym. For now just do what makes you comfortable, but maybe in the future you will feel differently about it.

You could also try some performance boxers. I have a few pairs of those and they tend to ride their way back down after you walk around in them for a while because the material slides more easily. American Eagle makes some nice ones but I'm sure other brands have similar things.

I chose boxer briefs for my first male underwear, and I like them. Generally I don't experience dysphoria with them unless (possible TMI) I have to keep them pulled up higher to keep a menstrual pad in place. 😕 Then because it's directly against me I feel like I'm wearing "panties." Otherwise, there's a little extra space in there, and it helps me walk a bit differently and generally allows me to feel more confident. I imagine I wouldn't like briefs, but boxers might be nice.

I actually think my disphoria would be worse with boxers. I prefer boxer briefs or under armor. But I also don't like feeling like I have a ton of layers on.
