Title: How long did it take you to finish your transition?

I ask because... I know there are MTF women who've had their SRS in their early 20's. I started HRT'ing in my early 20's! Twenty-three to be exact. I'm 26 now, and as much as I would very much love my SRS, I would prefer to have it sooner rather than later. I dread entering my 30's and just finishing my transition.
I was hoping to live my life in such a way that i lived many more years as a woman than i did a guy, but i didn't really want to live a long life. I was also hoping that when i'm (hopefully) born a girl in my next life that i live years longer than this present life.
Additionally, there's nothing for me as a guy. There's this whole other life waiting for me as a girl. I plan on attending a women's college (hence, why i feel i need to hurry up and transition!) and just... living a full life basically.
I would also like to... let's just say acquire my whole transition fund so i can just breeze through my whole transition at one time. I just hate being in this mental space where I'm jealous of others who've had their SRS at younger ages than i did. The day i have my SRS is certainly something i look forward to. That'll be the last thing i ever do transition-wise!

From, first counselor meeting to SRS, just a little over one year. since than I had FFS, tummy tuck and brachiaplasty.
The sooner you start, the easier it will be and the less you will need to do. Fos many of us funding was the biggest thing that held us back.

I started at 59 and ended at 61 so 2 years from starting HRT to ending with SRS. Prior to transitioning I didn't really care how long I lived either. Now, I hope to live a very long life, so your view on that may change.

A little more than 2 years, from the beginning of therapy and electrolysis all the way through facial surgery and SRS.

I started HRT 2 years ago. I haven't has SRS yet but I pass as female and live a female life so for me my transition is done. SRS is just the icing on the cake.

I pass as female when i go out as one. I've been on HRT for 3 years now and still haven't had anything surgical. No luck with voice training, working on getting my facial hair removed, and i'm hoping my breasts continue to grow as i'm not getting implants. I feel like i'm ready to finish my transition now and would very much like to while i'm still in my 20s.

I was finished with transition about 11 months after I realized I was trans (I was 32 when I knew I had to transition). It was a bit of a roller-coaster ride to do it that fast, but it was worth it to get on with my life as soon as possible.
I had GRS about two years after I finished transition, but that was just for me (and my wife).

I guess it depends on your definition of "finish transition."
From starting counseling to having my name and gender changed and living full time female - just a little over 3 months.
From start of counseling to having FFS and breast augmentation - 6 months.
From start of counseling to having GCS - 18 months (it would have been sooner if I had started electrolysis sooner but when I started out in my transition I didn't think I wanted GCS).

I began the process in beginning of 2014, bottom/top surgeries January and March and would consider it's an ongoing journey much like learning new things about playing a guitar twenty years down the road, there is always something new. In regards to "there is always something new", it's not an everyday thing but instead one day you react emotionally different then before or you look more feminine which seems like it happened overnight yet in reality the change was slow over time. I say, enjoy the journey whatever age you are at.

I want to go through my transition a certain way... getting some small stuff out of the way, name change, FFS, then SRS. So by "finish my transition" i mean having my SRS and that being the last thing i do transition wise.

While I was able finish my transition (based on your definition) in 18 months from the time I started, I wasn't able to start until I was 53. Good luck girl I hope you can reach your goal soon.
