Title: FFS funding options in Canada.
Post by: RockiesRhea on June 23, 2017, 12:56:40 AM
Next week I finally get my GRS in Montreal.

Now its time to start looking at how to get the FFS I want done.
And so does anyone have any info on funding options in Canada for FFS.
I wont be looking into any FFS surgeons outside of Canada.
My goal here is to find info on where and what to start looking into for funding options whether full funding or partial.

Good luck next week!  :)

I have been wondering the same thing about ffs funding. I would be curious to know of any Canadian insurance plans via the workplace that have agreed to any coverage and what was needed to make it happen.

I also wonder how many people do ffs procedures but are not advertising it.... Dare I ask who you plan to go to in Canada or are you combining procedures?  I hope someone can give you the financial answers you have been looking for.

I have never heard of funding from private or provincial plans for FFS.
In Ontario you can get funding for vaginoplasty and breast augmentation and that is it.
Funding for FFS is out of ones own resources.
I paid for my own FFS in January 2016 and want more work done this year and will pay for that too.
I did claim the cost of FFS on my taxes and have to go through an audit soon.
Hopefully they will accept the claim after the audit.
I think you have to take for granted that you will have to pay.
Some sort of online funding campaign is the only other way I can think of.
Good luck with surgery at CMC and recovery at Asclepiade.
I was there in March and had a good experience.
Are you considering Dr Bensimon as your surgeon.
I plan to see him for a consult soon myself.
