So I just got my first office job and I'm very excited about it. However, I normally wear a binder with my button up shirts and formal wear but I KNOW I can not wear my binder more then once a week for work. What do you guys normally do when wearing button up shirts everyday all day? How good is the sports bra trick? I haven't work bras in years and they honestly make me pretty dysphoric. How well do compression shirts work? Any tips?

I bind 8-10 hours every day. I have a very large chest and my binders are actually way more comfortable than any bra I ever owned.
If you are smaller chested, you could try two sports bras.

I am smaller chested and will probably go that route unless there is a better suggestion. I can hardly wear my binder for more then 4 or 5 hours without having some soreness or tension headaches. I've stopped wearing it except for extreme dysphoria and special events.

I had a 36 B chest (34 inches) and the sports bra method didn't really work to flatten my chest and it caused a lot of soreness. If you're smaller than that though I imagine it'll work. Coupled with a vest to smooth over any bumps.

Have you tried GC2B binders? I can wear mine all day with no pain.

I also, once switching to gc2b, wore binders instead of sports bras all the time. I've survived 12 hour days (DONT DO THAT THOUGH) and I grew accustomed to longer times wearing it. I get sore and achey but that's more of a product of binding for years than anything and it would have happened eventually.

If you really can't wear it every day, I find sports bras worked for me in casual button downs but not formal ones. I HAVE to bind in a formal button down myself. Can you wear a vest, sweater, or blazer? An extra layer helps smooth things out and in an office setting it hopefully wouldn't be excruciatingly hot haha.

I have only worn GC2B and use to be able to wear it while doing a 9 hour manual job. However, somewhere along the the last 2 years I just can't wear it anymore without it pulling on my neck muscles in a way that causes me headaches and neck pain. Idk it maybe shrunk in the wash or my body is revolting. maybe its time to size up and try again? The binder is 2 years old with lots of use but it doesn't visibly show.
Has anyone heard about compression tops? I see them on Amazon sometimes.

That's strange. I've had mine for 2 years and I've noticed they don't bind as well as they used too. But they pull on my back now which they never used to do and feel tighter causing my ribs some acheness. Probably due to me becoming more muscular. But I wouldn't think just being 5 months on T would cause that.

With s 36 inch chest you're probably are a B cup; which means unfortunately wearing a binder is the only way to go to make your chest flat :P

I'm really not sure what the kinda resent development is with my binder issues. Like I said if I wear it for 2 days in a row I will pay for it with sternum and rib pain as well as the in the moment neck pain and headache.

I am 38C and I either wear a bra or just let them breathe. Sure, I know the bra often shows, but so what?

If it is a new job, just show up dressed how you plan to live and start things off right.

Well its more that, I'm very dysphoric in button up shirts without a binder and if I'm wearing one everyday for work now I need something more comfortable than a binder.

Have you tried going up a size and then wearing a singlet or something underneath?
