Title: Going to a wedding

I'm going to a friend's wedding next weekend. I'd love to go as myself. But everyone expects a beautiful woman to come there. I am not a beautiful woman. I'm not a woman at all. I don't feel at home in women's cloths.
I'd love to come in a nice suit and a shirt. But I'm not completely out yet. Maybe this is my kick in the butt.
I will wear dark blue jeans...can you wear jeans at a wedding? And a shirt and a suit jacket.
My mom has bought me two necklaces. They are nice. But not on me. I feel like a ->-bleeped-<- (nothing wrong with that, but it's not me) in women's stuff. I feel like a fake.
I need to talk to my mom too. I will on Saturday when I sleep over at her house efter the wedding.
Maybe it's my last time in women's clothing.... No. I won't do it. I won't wear a dress and high heels. I won't use make up. I'll go as myself.

Quote from: MeTonie on June 27, 2017, 12:15:12 AMWhen I was "pretending" to be a guy, there were several times I went to formal events in a high end pair of jeans, suit shirt and really nice sports coat. Granted I was looking at all the beautiful women wishing I was wearing what they were wearing, but that neither here nor there. Lol

The other part of the equations is where is the venue located. That is going to tell you a lot about the dress code for men and women.
I wonder if I have some of my old "younger" me pictures....
Be right back
Ok back...

I've worn stuff like this to more personal, back yard type weddings and formal events. (God that is such a forced smile) lol

Sounds like you are psyching yourself up! If it isn't this time.....it will be soon. Good luck.
It is kind of funny because I have had the same thoughts but in reverse :)

I went to a wedding just before I came out and wore dark jeans, a smart shirt, shoes and a jacket. Still felt awkward as hell though and jealous that all the other men could wear suits. Would you feel worse dressing how I did or dressing in a suit even though you may get odd looks?
You're going to be there for hours; may as well dress as comfortably as you want.

I've asked the hostess. It's 80's and 90's theme. I will go as a grunge kid. That will be perfect. :D

Not sure if that's a terrible or awesome theme for a wedding; not exactly the decades of the best fashion choices :D. Hope you have fun anyway; going as a grunge kid will look awesome :)

I don't know why they have that theme. Maybe they have a sence of humor someone suggested on face book. No matter what, my clothing anxietywas relieved. :)
