Title: Anyone Experienced Nipple Pain While on Testosterone Blockers and no Estrogen?
Post by: Ejo on June 27, 2017, 05:55:45 PM
I was wondering if anyone has experienced nipple only pain and only when pushing in on them while on spironolactone and finestaride and NO estrogen?

It's quite possible.  One class of breast tissue cells respond to testosterone, with the presence of that androgen suppressing growth.  Remove or block testosterone, and breast growth can occur.  That's even a standard side effect warning of finasteride.  This gave me a several year running start at breast growth when I was put on finasteride to treat a bladder outlet obstruction.

It's likely small breast buds forming.

Testosterone or HGT block breast growth. Those cells need estrogen to grow but there is some T to E conversion in all male bodies. So nature made those cells not respond to E as long as there was an androgen triggering the androgen receptors. With Finesteride lowering DHT production and Spiro effectively blocking the androgen receptors those cells can begin to react to the level of E in your blood. Also with the AR getting Spiro latched on there is more T freely floating in the blood. This makes that free T available to react with the aromataze enzyme and change to E. Funny how the body works.

Doesn't seem too out of the ordinary. Spiro & Finasteride are both know to cause some gynecomastia but you probably won't get the same amount of growth as was estrogen.

I'm hoping Dutasteride will have some effect on me.  I've been on it for 3 months.
