Hey, I'm Everett. I'm a guy from the UK who has recently come out to his parents as a guy. They took it very well and have been so supportive which is the best. Hearing them call me by my name makes me feel so happy.
I'll be honest I'm not really sure where to go from here. I'm in my early twenties so I know I have a lot of life to live but I feel very antsy to start living as who I truly am. I'm very, very feminine both in voice and appearance so I feel theres no way I could pass and I don't feel confident enough to correct people. So I came here to seek advice and maybe learn some of the lingo because half the time when I see trans people talking about transitioning it all looks like latin to me and I'd like to learn it.
I'm not sure if some of the things I want to talk about are appropriate for the introduction section so I'll stop for now and just say hello and I hope to make some friends here.

Hi, Everett!
Welcome to the site.
We have a number of members in the UK who are transitioning, both with the help of the NHS and some doing it on their own with private care. They can advise you far better than I, a foreigner from the land of the USA.
You might want to introduce yourself to other members over in the Female to Male Transsexual Talk (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,27.0.html) forum.
If you have questions on hormone replacement therapy, you will get the best response to your questions by asking them over in our Hormone Replacement Therapy forum (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,42.0.html) for our transitioning members.
I hope you feel welcome here.
A Cautionary Note:
Please try to remember when posting that The Internet Never Forgets, and the various web crawlers and archival sites out there somewhere make sure of this.
This is a public forum. We cannot insure that any information shared on the site will be protected from public view and/or copying or reproduction. There is no way to guarantee that automated image and writing style analyzers out there won't see and process your post.
Do not share anything on Susan's that you do not want to be public information.
I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to take a look, please take a moment to go through them.
Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

Hi Everett! You are fortunate in several ways - a supportive family, low miles on your odometer, and - if you decide to head into HRT at some point it is possible your voice may naturally deepen. HRT is a one-way street on voice and can change FTM vocal chords, but not MTF (as I am). There is a ton of information on this site, people in many degrees of transition who share their experiences. And as MissKairi has so eloquently described... well I suppose that's the other type of warm. :D Welcome!

Hey Everett! A warm welcome!
Not long ago I was as new as you are to the whole FTM thing. It doesn't take long to figure it all out though.
Do head over to the FTM board https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,27.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,27.0.html) and ask questions about the whole process there.
Then there are about a million youtube videos of people talking in great detail about their transition, quite a few from the UK as well, which will be helpful for you.
See you around!

Everett and just remember this is about you finding yourself and being able to accept yourself. Everyone's journey here is different and there is no cookie cutters to put your journey into. Everyone does it differently. That is why we have this place to find advice and commonality. I have found everyone helpful here and caring about others. Feel free to ask and discover your journey. Yes, we have lots of acronyms and terms for transitioning and all pitstops on your journey.

Yes, as MissKairi points out guys get to be a little more disgusting and laughing about it. You can ask my boys they do all the time. Just don't do it on dates, doesn't go over well.

Hi Everett!
Welcome to the site. I'm glad you have a supporting network around you. You will need it for support and comfort through your journey to become yourself.
I'm pretty new to this myself. Not new new. I'm almost 40. But I have tried to be a happy woman, wife and mom, so hard it almost killed me. I'm not a woman.
