Title: Estrogen Levels
Post by: CursedFireDean on July 12, 2017, 02:32:22 PM
What levels of estrogen do us Transguy aim for? My testosterone levels are great and my doctor said that the estrogen looked good, but I also want to understand my own results better haha. It's more for my own curiosity than anything, I do trust my doctor.

I got 97.4 PG/ML estradiol on my most recent test which according to my quick research is kinda high but I couldn't find much specifically for trans men as opposed to cis men.

Looks like I've only had Estradiol tested at 3 months on T and it was 30.9pg/ml. From my understanding our estradiol should be in the range that is normal for Cismales like our T is.

Ok that's what I thought too. I expected levels more like that. I know my T is also very high and my doctor primarily said she wasn't worried because I don't have any feminising effects of the high E as well. If my estradiol was close to right I wouldn't care but this is almost twice what I expected. I might ask her about it next appointment.

Something you should discuss with your Endo. If your blood test was shortly before your injection and you still had very high levels, you need to consider a reduction in your dosage. Excessive testosterone will convert to estrogen and bring with it all of the things your are trying to escape from. If the blood test was just after an injection, high levels are to be expected and will taper down to more reasonable levels before your next injection.

I am on estrogen pills and the time of the blood draw is very critical because Estradiol only has a half life of two to three hours so over a day, levels could range between 1000 and less than 100. Injections use an oil that slowly delivers the medication however while the half life is about 6 days, there is a half life to consider when testing.

Mine at last check was 34. My doctor wants it below 45.
