Title: my intro
Post by: abbey.hanas on July 16, 2017, 08:17:59 PM
im gonna try to keep this short and sweet.  hello everyone, my name is abbey.  i live in a very conservative state, alaska with little to no professionals toward gender dysphoric people.  im a non-op trans woman of 8 years as of today and am very happy with my body.  ive always known i was different but didn't know why till i was 28 when i googled "change gender".  it really did open my eyes WIDE!  so after 2 years of studying gender dysphoria and everything surrounding it, i decided it was time for change.  i lost my child in the divorce, i lost 2 jobs, my apartment, family, and dealt with discrimination for the first 2 years.  found my husband in the 3rd year.  got married in the 4th year (loved my wedding dress) and found my dream job.  confidence started to soar in the 5th year.  finally found my footing in the 6th year.  and my 7th and hopefully into my 8th year will be smooth sailing...enjoying my life!

I am here to share what ive learned, to share my experiences, and to help others!  its definitely hard in the beginning but i can promise it does get better!

love susans place and its helped me for many years and am hoping my posts will help others as it has for me.

Welcome, Abbey!

We have a few other members here, just living their lives without surgery.   The transition process, with it's disruption of marriage, the divorce, loss and discrimination is all too familiar a story.  Your finding love, and a happy marriage is a wonderful thing to read.  (I can only hope for such a result.)

I hope you feel welcome here.

Wow Abbey, quite a story and I am so glad you have decided to share.  I have found by sharing I often discover more about myself.

Sounds like you are proof, the most important part of transition is from within.

Welcome, Abbey!

What a story you have. It sounds like perseverance and determination allowed you to get where you are now.  No doubt you will be able to help many others here who are going through similar experiences and need to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

See you around!
