My name is Naomi. I was born in a conservative country. I know I am different from others when I was in kindergarten. I grow up in fear and anxiety. Tears always accompany me. Suicide whispers to me every night. I have been standing at the crossroads for many years. I am walking on the sharp edge of a sword every day.
When I was young, the place I live had no information and no help. Later, I realized that I had worked hard for money in order to change my destiny. I worked 12 hours a day, from Monday to Sunday. When I got money for the change, I watched myself in front of mirror and a question came to my mind. Am I too old for the change? I evaded my soul and tried to change it. I worked hard and got marry with a woman. I thought I can forget it. Finally, I couldn't get rid of my soul. Pain had been always in my heart. Tears were unwilling leaving me.
Occasionally, I watched the story of Ms. Bobbie Huthart. She gave me courage. I decided to set my soul free. Then I began to search information and both local and online resource. As I don't want to run the government's procedure and the local groups only can provide with me limited information and no any service. What I can do is seeking resource and helps through the internet. I am so happy coming to Susan's Place and get a lot of information and other's experience which is what I need.
I believe hope is always there. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Hi Naomi,
I am Laurie and want to welcome you to Susan's Place. Your story is one of a desire that many of us have had from an early age that never leaves us. prejudice and fear keep those desire under cover hidden from the rest of the world but they are always with us. I hope you are able to fulfill your dreams sometime in your future. Never give up on that dreams with your dedication I think you can achieve them.
I hope you find the help and the support you need here at Susan's and the help you need to live your dream.
Hugs,
Laurie

Hey Naomi! Also new here. Sucks to hear your country is against you - some people are just committed to making others unhappy =( Get those tears out! You're never too old to change. You are brave. Tomorrow will be better.

Hello Naomi, and welcome!
Some parts of your introduction makes me sad, but also provides great hope as you are doing so much and you are aiming for a better future. By making your own life better I believe you will also be helping others.
At the time I was born in the US, several aspects of being transgender were illegal in many areas of the US. When I was born, I was illegal in other ways - my parents having a child was a felony (potential prison time) in several US states because my parents are from different racial backgrounds. These terrible laws were mostly eliminated since then, although there is still a surprising lack of protection across the US compared to some other countries. But I also know some countries are far worse on the topic of transgender rights. The reason I wanted to outline this is - there is hope for the future. As the US has gradually improved (and needs to improve a lot more), your local community and country might also improve over time.
Thank you for your post Naomi - I know that required a lot of courage on your part.

I am so happy coming to Susan's Place and get a lot of information and other's experience which is what I need.
