Title: Post-Revision- Does this sound normal?
Post by: baileycftm on August 04, 2017, 12:56:39 AM
I had my initial top surgery at the end of May, and a few days ago I had a revision done. Some tissue was forming at the bottom half of my pecks, closer to the incisions, so my doc went back in through the same sites, removed the tissues and the already-very-thick scars and closed me back up. No drains; I'm now in a compression vest again.

I took off my vest to shower earlier, but I noticed that there is swelling and discoloration as expected, but also, especially on the side that was problematic (where most tissue had formed) the lower area is a reddish-pink, with a slight yellow tint (more colors on the problem side). It hurts to touch, but being a few days out of surgery, I figure that part is normal. However, I'm unsure of what this is- could it be early signs of a hematoma, or just post-op bruising and swelling? I'm gonna try to contact my doc tomorrow, but I wanna post about it- it also might help anyone else in this situation. I'll update as events happen.

I would guess its just standard bruising but if you're concerned it's definitely worth giving the surgeon a quick call
