Since what's her name so tactfully pointed out my mistake I see that I am mistaken about that too and I have been spelling it incorrectly several times elsewhere.   Alas Jess though I have been designated a moderator I lack the skills and more imortantly the experience to do the job at the moment. Cindy or Susan or who ever does such things needs a moderator badge with training wheels for the likes of me. It's going to be a challenge.

Actually your badge has training wheels. Look at it closely and you will see a white star. Still the color orange looks good on you and now it's easy to spot  you on the forum.

  Alas I agree I can no longer use my stock greeting. I'll just have to find another. I'll think of something.

As for being "The official greeter" oh no, hunh ugh. Greeting is still a function of my new job but we have two Official designated greeters. Those are Kendra and Kathy Lauren and they are doing a fine job of it too.
Heck, I still need training on how to post the standard new user links and information.

Since you're now on the inside maybe you could lobby the higher ups to create an "official greeter" classification.  Or even an official "unofficial greeter" designation since the position is currently vacant.  As you know I do my fair share of greeting too.  We're counting on you girl!

There is a greeter title though a badge hasn't been made for it yet. If somebody wants, they could use the custom title field to set a greeter title.

If anyone would like to be an official greeter just PM me and we can have a talk about it. Of course unofficial greeters are always needed and being a good member sort of suggests that we all try and say hello to new people who are often nervous and feeling a bit lost.

I still remember my first greeting and it made me feel safe and welcome when I was a very lonely and confused person.

Thanks Denni, (we should talk more)

  Clyde has a place of honor on my desk in his pretty new jar. I offered to return him to his rightful owner, but  That Woman wants no part of what is left of this upstanding symbol. She's content to have used the parts of him she wanted and to toss the rest casually aside. At least I've preserved what's left and given him a proper place of honor.
  That Woman Miny or Moanycah can be so insensitive when she's playing with her new toys.

  No they haven't issued me any of that good stuff yet but the did give me a few more buttons, a list of questionable posts to look at, and the taught me the secret hand shake. Then they pointed me at a forum, kicked me out the door and said go forth and learn, grasshopper.  Dang if I didn't get lost. This place has no maps or gps and most of the roads  are two muddy tracks. I get stuck a lot. *SIGH*
