Hello everyone, My name is Samantha. I have been a cross dresser for 20 years off and on. I got to the point where I was tired of purging and feeling guilt for something that I liked. I finally broke down and seen a psychiatrist. After several meetings I came to the conclusion that I was transgender. After several meetings, my psychiatrist gladly wrote my transition letter to my oncologist. I meet with her 2 weeks ago and she gladly prescribed HRT hormones for me after my blood work came back. Well, I started my T-Blockers on Monday, and started my estrogen on Friday. I've been so excited and nervous at the same time. A very sweet lady from He Wears Panties referred me to this site. Everyone there is so supportive and sweet. I hope everyone is well and having a great weekend. Samantha

Hi Samantha!  Welcome to Susan's.  I am MTF and I live near Seattle.

Isn't it odd how society pushes people to do things that are clinically harmful while trying to make us feel guilty for things that are good.  Advertising pushes huge quantities of the wrong type of food, addictive beverages at business meals are tax deductible, gambling is financially wise if it's a state lottery, and the teacher's lounge at my high school was filled with cigarette smoke.  It took me years to realize there is nothing wrong with being yourself and enjoying life the best way possible for the long haul.  More than nothing wrong, it's awesome.

Congratulations for starting your HRT prescription - my ride began a month ago.  There are a bunch of forum groups here covering every topic - medical, social issues, the details and the big picture.  I am glad you are here.

See you around!

Kendra
