Title: Spironolactone and vasodilation

Since spiro is for blood pressure, and it does dilate blood vessels. So why no one have problems with bad circulation?
As I understand, Chronic venous insufficiency happens when blood vessels dilate. So I think this is why doctors say to us to practice sports, so blood vessels on legs can have a little more pressure to make blood go up. (?)
Is it possible that my bad circulation is coming from the spiro? I don't think so, because I didn't see no one complaining about spiro.. So probably it is the estrogen...

Maybe patches goes better in me...
I really am worried, if I cannot be able to hrt, so what about all the plans I did this whole time? Anyway.. I'll try and be positive.

Spironolactone is used for lowering blood pressure because it acts like a diuretic. It helps the kidneys filter out excess water from the blood system. It is not a blood vessel dilator. Other types of blood pressure medication can do that, but not Spironolactone.

If you have Chronic Venous Insufficiency, it is not caused by the Spironolactone.
Women are twice more likely to have CVI than men.

What form of estrogen are you taking? Older forms such as Ethinylestradiol has been known to cause blood clots and could be a factor in your CVI. There are many of us here who are taking bio-identical Estradiol which has a much better safety record.

I'm was on low dose of 17-beta estradiol.

You are right about spiro, I don't know why I thought spiro was a blood vessel dilator.

Estradiol is a vasodilator as it increases nitric oxide.
