I hope this is the right place to post this thread lmao
The last time I bought an underworks binder was 3 years ago and back then most guys used the tri top and the long undershirt style binder with 2 layers as their everyday binders. They were usually refered to by their item numbers but i cant really remember the numbers. You guys know what im talking about tho
Anyway I opened up underworks today since i need to get new binders and I noticed that they have different kinds of tritops now. I tried to look at the pictures to spot any differences but they still look the same to me. Can someone please explain what happened? I havent been active on trans boards in years so im beyond confused here. Or if theres some video of someone comparing the new binders to the old ones please give me the link.
Thanks

Welcome to Susan's Place. I moved your post to a place where it will get more attention but it's no big deal. Moves are pretty easy to do and we do several a day. I don't know that much about binders but the guys do so I suggest you keep checking back over the next day or so and I suspect your questions will be answered.

So, among the "Extreme" compression category, their highest level of compression and the only one I can see being of use to most trans guys since the rest do less than an ordinary sports bra for me, they still have the old Tri-top (which is the crop top) and Chest Binder Tank (which is the long undershirt.) These are exactly the same as they were years ago.
But they've also come out with this new "cotton" lining, which is actually closer to microfiber than cotton in terms of texture, but wicks sweat a little better than their original material and is less scratchy on the skin. So there's the old material on the outside (which is why all the photos look the same) but a different, softer lining on the inside. The downside as that they don't bind quite as well, though they're still better than gc2b in terms of binding power. The "cotton" equivalent of the Tri-top is the Cotton Lined Power Chest Binder. The "cotton' equivalent of the Chest Binder Tank is the Cotton Concealer Chest Binder.
They also added a bunch of stuff in the lower compression categories. But again, anything that's not in the "extreme" category is kinda useless.
Personally, I definitely prefer the new cotton-lined stuff, because it cuts way down on rash issues in the summer.
