Title: Need advice about upcoming surgery please!!!!
Post by: Sarah leah on October 05, 2017, 08:22:53 AM
Hi everyone,

I need some advise from everybody with regards to some surgery I am having in eight days overseas. I am a bit concerned about it and have not got a reply back from the place I am going to yet. They have been perfect at replying but this week they have gone silent.

The reason I am asking is because I am having my nose/hairline done as well as lipo on my tummy to transfer it to my bottom   :icon_cute: . The issue is when it is done I can not sit or sleep on my bottom or back so I will need to sleep on my tummy. However, if my face is getting done how will I sleep on it!!! Anyone else "faced" <- pun this? Or have advice about dealing with both BBL and FFS in one session.

Please help.

Same surgeon doing the procedures?  They must have some advice relevant to your care then.  Otherwise, it doesn't really sound all that workable together.

I really hope so as I need to travel from the US on a plane to Australia after my surgery. I will be staying in a recovery house for 10 days before traveling home, however I only thought a few days ago about the fact I can not sleep on my back or sides after fat transfer, as well as the concern with my FFS (hairline and nose) meaning I need to sleep elevated for at least the first week.

I go there in 7 days it turns out so an answer from them would be great but so far no real reply has been sent so I am concerned now. That said the doctor stated he has done BA,BBL and FFS on people before and it has not caused any issues as long as people sit on their thighs on seats instead of their bottom, as well as standing every 30 mins on the plane trip. But the sleeping part is my greatest fear as I move around a ton in my sleep :(

I can picture resting on one of those boards with a cutout for your butt at an incline.  I think that'd be a workable solution :)  Other than that, I did manage to sleep on my face a couple days after FFS...

Sounds like you're coming to the US for surgery?  With which doctor?  Many people here have knowledge of US doctors as well as recent disruptions here in the US (hurricanes on Gulf/East Coast).  Maybe someone knows something.  As for sleeping maybe a sheet of memory foam like they make for beds, cut down to seat width, would take local pressure off your backside for trip home and after.  I know you probably have plane tickets already, but I think many surgical centers want you to be farther along than 10 days before travel after such extensive surgery, I know I'll have to stay in Thailand for 30 days all together.  Let us know if we can help.  I DO know how nerve wracking this can be.  Toni

Thank you for the kind reply :)

I am going to Mexico for the nose work with transop as they do fantastic work on noses and mine is very much in need of help. That said I am petrified of going as I am a small town girl/fulltime single parent going overseas alone whilst my two babies stay in Australia. They will be safe as they are going on holiday to my mums for two weeks, but still it is upsetting as I have never been away from them since I took custody on the day they were born.

So much is going through my head as I leave in 48 hours and I have no clue what to take or need?? Furthermore, I am super shy so I will be hiding in my room 99.9% of the time in the recovery house and I feel it will come of as rude :(

I've no idea about where you're going, but I often hear for SRS to take a computer/tablet for internet (and get a sim card there), entertainment (kindle, video's, etc).

Hi Sarah, taking entertainment is a good idea.  I'm going to pack very light and mostly take undies and socks and probably a nighty as I expect to spend most of my post op time resting.  I'm going to pretty much come and go looking largely the same in the hopes of an easy time through customs and immigration, so not much outer clothes needed and I can pick up some local deals if I want to add to my wardrobe while in Thailand, Mexico should be similar.  Don't feel sheepish about just relaxing and recovering, after all, you're paying for this and YOU should be your first priority.  Let us know how your nose surgery comes out, I may be up for some of that myself.  Everything will be OK, we're with you in spirit and if you have computer access you can keep us all advised on a regular basis!  I've been down under and loved it, good people.  Hugs, Toni

Thank you everyone.

I have been out of hospital 24 hours now and the pain is not easy to deal with but I am stubborn. Overall impression so far of Mexico is eye opening given I live in a small rural town. The hospital was very clean and the staff professional. At this point I look like a balloon with a droopy dog mouth :(

This was 2 hours after my surgery to liposuction under my chin, rhino and hairline advance:

This is 24 hours from leaving surgery:

Overall I feel fine and able to function just painful as the liposuction of my tummy hurts a lot due to the drainage I still have in me. That said I will post a picture in a day or two again to show the difference in swelling.

So glad to hear you're out and doing well.  Looks like swelling is rapidly diminishing.  Keep us posted.  Hugs, Toni

Thank you. I am not as sore at least today as I was in the first 48 hours. However swelling is still an issue as my face, neck region is tender and bloated which I expected as I bruise just from being poked or prodded.

In terms of the lipo it has been up and down as I am still leaking a tiny amount from the procedure after five days but it is so little it is manageable. That said I look bloated and bruised every colour under the spectrum.

The big concern now is traveling for 36 hours and when to commence HRT again.

Hi Sarah, coming along nicely!  I think you should be pleased.  Imagine 6 months down the road.  Have a safe trip back home.  Toni
