Hi all
I started this thread because I dont know what to do.
Im 20 and 5 days ago I started HRT. Im on Spironolactone per day and Estradiol.
Since two days I feel pain in my right kidney, its a little bit weird becouse I dont have any other side effects (omitting frequent visits in toilet :)). Should I stop taking spiro or maybe my organism have to get used?
*No Dosages Please*

Make sure you're drinking enough water and replacing sodium by eating some extra salt.
If the kidney pain keeps up another day or two you probably should go see a doctor. It may or may not be related to the spiro but kidney problems can be serious.

I drinking four liters of water per day. I never had any problems with my kidney so I think that its related to the spiro. I decreased my dose, maybe it will help. If not I will stop taking it. Its DIY so I cant visit a doctor.

Hi Hon,
I know that this may seem at odds but I think as you are DIY it is a very good reason to go and see a doctor. Spiro is a very potent drug that affects your blood pressure, kidney function and of course blocks some hormones from binding. The side effects of any drug can be very serious and that is why they should only be used under medical supervision in case you have some underlying physiological issue that the drug will trigger.
I don't want to scare you needlessly but a combination of changes in blood pressure and kidney function that can be caused by Spiro is potentially extremely serious.

Yes, go and visit a doctor. Tell them you are DIY transitioning. I was in the same boat myself. I wanted to be monitored, plus it made it more Real if that makes sense. Find a doctor that is trans friendly of course.
Good luck sister!

DIY therein lies the rub. Estradiol if you don't take it sublingually might affect your kidneys. Spiro over time may effect. I've been on it for 26 years due to heart failure and except for occasions of low blood pressure and the dizziness that goes with it.
