Title: FTM On T: Effects?
Post by: Randi Just Is on October 16, 2017, 01:45:43 PM
Okay so.... This will be my first post on this site but I have a question to ask.

I've recently just come across the fact that there can be growth, er... Downstairs. If you catch my drift. And I think this is surprising because out of all the sources I've looked at, not one has mentioned the bit of growth that can occur. Well, until recently. It was a YouTube video that let that bit of info slip. I know no one's going around growing a penis on T but I was fully unaware that there would be any growth down there. I don't know if anyone on here would like to explain this bit of info a little more because I'm pretty confused about it. :\

The more I looked into it, the fewer things made sense. It might just be me though. I've found a story talking about someone who's friend was able to stand and urinate 'n aim and all that but it seemed like he had just gotten very lucky. So if anyone would explain this a little better, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Randi Just Is, yes one does get growth down below, many times one start to feel it in the first few weeks.  Probably the most growth is in the first 6-12 months but can continue for a couple of years. Variable on how much you end up with, 1 to 2  thou some guys say 3 inches, but not very big around so like a like boy. In order to stand to pee you need to have surgery to release it so it stick out from you body and have your urethra extended through it. So peeing standing is not a given.  I hope this helps you understand a little more what happens when you try T.

As mm said, downstairs growth is often one of the first changes to present itself after starting T. I couldn't say why, but I guess that part of our body is just sensitive to the extra DHT. It's usually not much, but obviously there are extremes on both ends—those that receive basically no growth, and I have seen a couple cases of men experiencing over 3 inches, but know that receiving more than, or even close to 3 inches, is probably in the 98th-100th percentile (just a guess, I don't have any numbers). The medical term for this phenomenon is cliteromegaly, which just means an enlargement of the clitoris.

I have heard of men finding ways to stand to urinate without a STP (stand-to-pee) device or surgery, involving some pulling on things to sort of "aim" the urethral opening as best as possible. I can't shed light on this myself, you'd have to do some more research there, or hope that someone here has achieved it. But most often, STP devices and urethral lengthening, as part of either phalloplasty or metoidioplasty, are the only ways one can stand to pee.

Hi Randi,

I'm Laurie and I am MTF so I can't really answer your question but I am sure there are those here that may be able help you. Welcome To Susan's Place! Come on in and take a good look around.  Perhaps I can even get you to hop on over to the Introductions (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,8.0.html) Thread and  create a post to tell us a little bit more about yourself so we can get to know you a little better and greet you properly.

Also I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them especially the RED one as we are always getting questions that are answered there.

I knew that this effect happened but was surprised by how it happened and the finished result. I experienced it becoming noticeable at 7/8 months on T and I think I haven't experienced much or any more growth recently. Which I've heard is normal after being 2 years on T. It was a happy surprise at how penis like it looks (the clit is basically the undeveloped head of a cis male penis) and how it acts like any other one.

As others have said its caused by the DHT hormone in T, you can't pee through it as the urea hole is in a different place, you can choose to have urethral lengthening as part of bottom surgery and 3 inches is about the average (the average cis male penis when flaccid is 4 ish inches)

Forgot to mention a change which completely surprised me is and that is rarely talked about; is that the inner folds 'down there' become larger and more prominent. I'm guessing because in the womb those bits would have become the scrotum/testes; so that's why it's affected by HRT. Not sure if it affects everyone in this way or not.
