Congratulations on your first day out. I remember when my Dr. said she would take my case I went straight to a store and bought new women's shoes, pants, and a blouse. I put them on and threw away my old male clothes and drove home from the Dr's office over 125 miles.
I got home and got rid of my male clothes and have been rebuilding my new wardrobe. Since that day (Sept 25th) I have been living 24/7 as what I am, A woman. I hope you feel great just like I do.
As for passing there's no way I could pass even from a long distance lol.

It is liberating. Expect weird looks for a while but after a while you don't even notice. One of the best places to start out is in a Transgender support group. A good portion of the participants dress in clothing that reflect their gender. But aside from the important sharing of experience. Even better is when they get together afterwards for dinner or coffee.

Just like in the movies,"Remember, you belong here".  Not showing your apprehension makes a HUGE difference as that's the first thing people pick up on.  Other than that it's great fun and oh so nice a feeling.  Have a ball!  Toni

It's been a great day so far, no trouble or rude people and i was told that i pass by someone who i think might not have just said to be nice. Now we will see how shopping goes[emoji3]

Hi Green Lady,

  The more you do it the easier it becomes. I know I don't pass but that doesn't stop me anymore from going about my business in public. I know it isn't easy and it wasn't for me but every day out you become more confident in knowing you can do it.
   A big confidence builder of mine was on my 3rd day into a trip dressed and fairly new at it I pulled into a gas station/ truck stop for gas and locked myself out of my pickup and had to go inside and play damsel in distress asking for help.  I tell you it is once heck of a way to get used to being out in public dressed. I do not really recommend you try it though.
   It will get better for you.

You have more guts than me! I'm not going out dressed until my beard shadow is gone. If I can't pass I won't enjoy myself at all. [emoji53] I'm ok at night, or at a distance though. Lol.

My beard shadow is pretty faint behind my makeup and honestly i don't have it in me to pretend to be a dude anymore. This is too much fun to fo back. [emoji6]

I have a beard shadow right after I shave! I haven't tried something like Dermablend, but it shows under regular makeup, even if I put orange over it first.

I'm almost 60. So I'm quite used to being who I am. I have dressed up in public. Fairly recently too. But always under controlled situations lol.

I'm still a guy. I need to address that before I start being who I should be. That's how I see it.

So I'm waiting until I have my facial hair removed and FFS. I just wouldn't be happy with my appearance otherwise.

For me things are simpler, i'm young and would probably pass without a beard so i'm not sure FFS will be necesary.

I had an old dude looking at me every minute or so for a 15 minute bus trip [emoji53] but other than that it's been a great day, i've finally dropped the facade. I feel so free. [emoji16]

Congrats! That's a big step. I remember I was so incredibly nervous my first few times. Now I don't worry at all - I truly feel like myself. I'd be full time too if it wasn't for where I live (working on that!).

Feels good, doesn't it?

I don't think I pass, but the last few weeks have shown that more often than not, I do.  Get comfortable, stay a while.  The more you do it the easier it gets.

Such great advice. You will get to a point where you do not acknowledge the sideways glance, or the odd comment. Get started on the hair removal, it's a long and expensive process but it pays huge in the passing front.

Unfortunatly my parents decided to berate me for frowning while someone stares at me which kinda killed my buzz a bit, mum misgendered me twice while giving me ->-bleeped-<- for having the nerve to be seen dressed. I should know better than to call those miserable old buzzkills, all they do is whine about how hard their lives are and try to spoil other peoples fun.

I try and be patient but it's like a funeral everyday with these people. Ive tried to warn them that i would be out soon if they choose to act shocked and suddenly forget my pronouns i feel thats their issue and ive allready wasted to much time on it.

Ive only done one laser session and it already looks patchy and thin[emoji3].  Skirts are a godsend in the tropics, so breezy. [emoji6]

I hate my laser sessions. Passionately. And it takes me a SOLID 2+ weeks for the hair to fall out. Ugh.

The things that made it real for my family (and a lot of crying!) were getting rid of the facial hair (still a work in process and will be for quite some time), and growing boobs.

Yeah laser is a bitch but i do like being able to say i shot lasers at my problem [emoji6]
