So today I went to my surgeon the do the final consult before surgery and to FINALLY schedule it. We go through all the prelims, size, shape, risks, under/over muscle (under, gummy, 375cc) and then came scheduling.
(please let it be this year, please let it be this year, please... I'm thinking)
Someone from the staff came in and asked "You're local, right? Are you okay with sliding in if there's a cancellation?"
My response was "are you kidding - yes."
Okay "Friday"
"Ummmm.... Today's Wednesday, really? like day after tomorrow, Friday?"
"yeah, as long as we can get the implants and the blood work comes back okay, sure Friday. As long as you have someone who can come with you...etc."
So I call my support person who, thankfully, was available. The could get the implants. The hospital was all set they just put my name in place of..... oh wait......
The Dr won't operate if you've not stopped hormones for 2 weeks. Never mind.
How's November 10th look?
So instead of Friday it's three weeks and two days. I'll take it - I'm so excited. I've waited since 1972 I can wait 3 weeks, 1 day and 9 hours.... but who's counting?

Denise, did you need letters to prove to insurance it was a medical necessity? Also did you go with someone experienced with trans women? Sorry, but I am looking at all of this myself. I am starting to get that damn itch again. You would think GCS would be enough for me, right? I digress, so happy for you. Maybe you could keep us updated on this, okay Hon?

Quote from: HappyMoni on October 20, 2017, 04:05:28 PMI got two letters of medical necessity, therapist and my GP (Md) it was submitted with the FFS that was denied. We're starting the appeal for that.

So I got a call this morning from the surgeon. 11/10 won't work for him. How about 10/31, next Tuesday.
Ahhhh yeah, that will work. 8 more nights

6 days and something near 11 hours.... but who's counting?
- oh yeah ME!
However for those following in my footsteps, I wish it was a Friday not a Tuesday. That way I would have two weekends to recover and more importantly buy new bras! I'm kinda at a loss. All my 34b's are way too small banded and since I'll be nearer 36c there's no way a "small" sports bra or a 34b will fit.

You're going to wake up either banded, or in a tight sports bra. You'll be that way for weeks. You'll be swollen and possibly bruised. It will take your implants 1-3 months to drop/settle. Your final fit won't be clear until they do. Be excited for sure, but be ready for an extended period to recover.
