Title: Accessory I’ve Never Seen Before
Post by: steph2.0 on October 20, 2017, 10:50:20 PM
Maybe you are all more up to date on this stuff than I am, but my dear friend and neighbor turned me on to a really handy cute accessory I didn't know about. It's called an Infinite Loop (seriously) and is lightweight cloth about 2 feet wide and 6 feet long, sewn back on itself so it forms a big loop. With the cloth bunched together it can be worn as a scarf, either wrapped around your neck twice or just once and hanging down the front with a knot, can be spread out as a shoulder wrap, or... use your imagination. The best part? $2 each at Wally World.

I found a great use for it. I have a black sundress that I love to wear at home, but with spaghetti straps I don't dare wear it out because of my wide shoulders. I draped one of them over my shoulders like a shawl, bunched it up in front, and used a nice barrette to hold it together. It disguises my shoulders and looks really classy - and I get to wear my sundress!

Cool beans!

Stephanie

Yes, sometimes it takes a decade or two for a fashion trend to make to Wal-Mart in the two dollar bin. Generally called the "infinity scarf", these loop scarves experienced a rise in the fashion world in the last ten or twenty years or so. I doubt if Jen Aniston or The Gwyneth bought theirs at Wally World, but the great thing about fashion is it's not copyrightable. A cheap one can work just as well as one with a designer label.
