Title: Better late than never

So, it appears that after more than three years and >1000 posts, I never introduced myself! So here is me, as of today :)
I'm a 40 year old trans-woman living in Bedfordshire in the UK. I work in IT for a major multinational pharmaceutical business, but haven't a clue about the science or medical side of things as I studied Mechanical Engineering at university in Leeds. I've previously done IT in Education, Consulting, Finance, Construction and Retail/E-commerce industries, it's kinda the same no matter, code is code.
My interests include IT (no surprise there), baking and cooking, films/cinema, fast/muscle cars and I have aspirations to one day build my own house which has been a dream since childhood. I also exercise regularly (swimming, cycling and running) and enjoy competing in local races and events as a personal challenge to myself.
I live alone, having separated from my partner as a result of my transition, but I live close to her and our children (5 and 3 years old), and my children come to stay with me regularly.
I guess I started my transition on September 1st 2014, when I finally decided to face the trans* beast. At this time I was totally closeted and paranoid of discovery, no-one knew, not family, and not even my then wife. I really had no idea what I was, and where my journey would lead. I contacted a wonderful local therapist who had some previous experience working with trans* clients, simply asking if she could help me resolve my gender confusion.
What followed that first meeting (and many subsequent) has been a three year (and still going) transition to discover myself. In that time I've lost weight (100lbs) and had an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), had hair transplants, come out to family, friends and colleagues. I've ben suicidally depressed for several months. I've lost my marriage, home and time with my children. But I've gained an understanding and peace with myself after decades of anxiety and confusion.
In May-2017 I started living full-time, identifying as female, and transitoned at work with the full and wonderful support of all my colleagues. I am open and public about my trans* status and have spoken at several public and work events to raise awareness and understanding of trans* healthcare issues.
In July-2017 I started HRT, which has (for me) been a very positive experience, despite some bumps on the emotional rollercoaster.
I am currently starting to weigh my options for a possible GRS surgery; which one(s) and when.
I'm more than happy to field any questions on the above, just PM me :)
Thank you for reading.

This is great! The moderator has to make an intro because she's telling other people they have to, and along comes a moderator to moderate the moderator! Who's on first?
My sister built her own house using the cordwood masonry style. The house was a perfect circle. It was very satisfying to be inside it.

An intro? AN Intro? AN INTRO!! Hell who needs an intro? My whole life story is here on Susan's. It's just spread out a little bit.
Perhaps I'll see what she's learned from that citified ruffian. Anyway I'm not worried

Hi Megan,
To keep with the theme of this thread title, welcome to Susan's. It is nice getting to know a little more about you, thank you for sharing.
I'm not a staff member here, but I do have my own introduction post so don't come after me. [emoji846]

I submit exhibits A & B. It seems you knew exactly what your were getting into. I rest my case. And don't try to say the Devyl made you do it either.
Besides, I'm not afraid of either of you. (I've met the Devyl and came away unscathed)
