Susan's Place Transgender Resources

I am looking for someone to lead the news team. This is a volunteer position, but is part of the admin team. You should either have a background in journalism, or be an exceptional writer.

You will be responsible for:

• Posting new content.
• Publish news releases as they come in to our submission address.
• Get us on as many mailing lists as possible which are likely to have transgender or glbt content
• Requesting permission to republish content that originated from other sources which may be of interest to our community.
• Moderate new comments on our stories.
• Post 3-4 original content pieces per month.
• Editing submissions.
• Recruiting new news team members.
• Writing original news content for the site.
• Promoting our content on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
  
• Maintain the Wordpress updates (plugins and themes, training can be provided).
  
• You will also take direction from me as required.

I would prefer an established member of the community with at least 500+ posts, but I am willing to make an exception for the right candidate. If you are interested send me pm with samples of your writing, along with any special qualifications that you bring to the table, and a working plan of action once you take the reins.
