I don't have a burning desire to change my given name at this time. I honestly didn't expect to post much or even stick around (things escalated so quickly for me). Now I feel that the one I picked for the forums is too impersonal.  It was OK at the time but I feel the need for something people are able to relate to. Obviously it can't be one that's in use already.

So, I ask you:
leave it, it doesn't change anything?
Just pick one? That seems as bad as leaving it as-is.
Let you guys pick one based on how I post? (hard to impossible, I know)
Variations of my given name don't seem to work for me.

I'm lost, I have no idea what suits me.

Sorry, I have no recommendations.  I picked mine as a sort of "it will do for now" name.  The more I used it, the more I liked it, so now it is my legal name.

I would choose one you like and can identify with.  People who answer you are going to use your forum name in their responses, so you will see it often.  It helps if you like it then.  I have a history with mine, so it was a no brainer to choose it. Still if I did have to choose another, I'd think long and hard.  If another user already has the name I like, I'd add a number to the end of it, or a period like Megan.

I am using my real name which I picked nearly 40 years ago. On the other hand, I have changed many peoples names on the forum and sometimes I have done it more than once. If you are considering transitioning, using your new name as much as possible helps you get used to it so if your new name is already taken, consider adding a few characters to make it unique. The members tab in the upper right hand corner will help you look for names that aren't used.

Wow, Devlyn, I dont know what to say. As soon as i read the name my heart jumped and I got butterflies in my stomach. I would never have thought of that for myself but as soon as i read it it felt right. Thank you so much.

And thank you all for answering, I really didn't have any expectations so its a very pleasant surprise.

One more thing. What does Delta Tau Chi mean?

So, how do I go about getting the forum name changed to Faith? .. or if it needs to be longer, Faith Nicole?
Also will it change for old posts as well or just new ones.

all done It is now Faith. A email in near future will go out so suggest you make you have access to your email because it will reset password as a result of this change. Hugs

Awesome, thank you.  The internet is down at my house right now. I'm stuck using my phone. I do have email access.

Faith is also the prettiest and most memorable of the vampire slayers.  Good choice!
