You can ask for  patches or injections. Both methods are supposed to alleviate the concerns of DVTs.

To clarify I was on androcour and estrodot patches estradiol 17b I had had hernia surgery At the end of october and I believe this is what brought on the DVT however my doctor said it was possibly the most extensive he had ever seen and both my docs agreed I must quit HRT for at least 6 weeks  thank you for your concern Laurie  That deep dark hole is looming closer I need a coping strategy knowing there are people out there who care helps

You can try getting plenty of sleep, try to relax, and reduce sources of stress in your life.  Lose yourself in a good book or movie or Netflix TV series to keep yourself distracted.

I would ask about staying on Androcur since E is the only real concern for DVT. It is amazing what a rise in your T level can do, especially cold turkey

Big hug! I know the feeling, I've been off the girl juice twice. You just need to slog through this temporary slowdown.  :)

Hugs, Devlyn

Off female hormones? I see, must be the sudden change, from being on to not being on, the body is probably trying to adapt. Hmm, dont give up and be strong. And perhaps talk to doctor and therapist for advice and help?

It helps being completely aware that any mental changes are a result of the hormonal drop (and temporary). If you know that you can look out for mood changes and try to do things to raise mood. I know this isn't a "solution", but not being aware and falling into inexplicable depression and anxiety is worse in my view because a person can attribute the cause to any number of other things incorrectly and go off the rails. When you don't know the cause it's easy to assume its a permanent problem as well, when it isn't. Speaking from experience.

If you suffer badly, perhaps some anti depressant or anti anxiety medication may help you in the meantime to avoid intrusive thoughts. But they won't improve brain fog. One thing that does help with brain fog and low energy to a small degree is cutting carbohydrates from your diet and going on a low carb high protein diet. You have to get past the first week or two before feeling the benefits.

I was off HRT for FFS and GCS. I think it was I think FFS was 3 weeks and GCS was 6 weeks. I was allowed to stay on spironolactone except for GCS when I had to stop 2 days before.

I do not know is androcour is like spiro but there was a profound change in my potassium and magnesium levels. So eating the correct foods to counter the mineral shift is important.

I felt that as my times off HRT progressed I felt dull and lethargic. I never had cold sweats or the like. I was able to stay on spiro so T was not an issue.

Exercise for me was an issue because of the surgeries; I could not exercise. Exercise raises my spirit.

Depression can be an issue and you may want to review it with your doctor.

I hope the time goes fast for you. Sorry for the loss of HRT but in the bright side a DVT could have done you in. When I finally was able to go back on HRT it was an awesome feeling. So perhaps focusing on how the feeling of being back on HRT will be will help.

If I was in a situation where hormones may need to be reduced/removed temporarily until a problem is resolved, my main priority would be resolving that problem so that I can get back to my life's goals. Easier said than done, but with enough determination you will get there! Eat a healthy diet, exercise, get plenty of sleep every night, drink plenty of water, spend time with people that make you happy. Stress plays a huge factor. When you take care of yourself, you'll be surprised how much faster you'll reacquire homeostasis. Speak your concerns with your doctor as well. There may be some options that are completely better than no option at all. There are many different types of AAs, and different types, and routes of hormones as well. Some may be bad in your particular circumstance, but others may be fine. If you are still against all magnitudes of information declined, see another doctor and get a 2nd opinion. Do what you gotta do.
