Has anyone gone to ideal image for laser removal of their facial hair? I'm at the point where I can't stand to shave any more and need to take care of that but I'm on a rather limited budget right now and looking for the best balance between affordable and great results.

Any experiences  from those who have experienced laser hair removal at ideal image is much appreciated!

While I have had laser on my face, I haven't been to Ideal Image.  Hopefully someone will be along soon who can answer your question.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I underwent electrolysis because laser hair removal hadn't been developed yet however I have something for you to consider. All hair removal systems can mark the skin and one place you don't want marks is on your face. For this reason you should consider professional hair removal as they are trained in proper hair removal.  I suggest you  shop around as some hair removal places offer reduced rates for transgenders because they know we will be a regular customer and not just a one time visit. If laser hair removal works for you, it's far less costly than electrolysis and takes far less time.

I heard they have like the best laser (at least for us blacks ) called yag. So if it great for African Americans it must do a better job on fairer skinned people

I have been going to Ideal Image since January and have had six laser treatments so far. I am also doing electrolysis because laser does not work on grey hair. Although Ideal Image is not cheap, their laser treatments have been very effective. The results really started to show after the fourth treatment. At this point my dark hairs have been reduced by 80% - 90%, and I think one or two more treatments should take care of it. My electrolocist has only been going for the grey hairs, but now I have told her that all facial hair is now fair game!

I used a similar place, Radiance MedSpa, in San Antonio. I think they both use the same laser. I have relatively fair skin and black hair. I had no residual marks or major issues. The black, it can't get grey, has not grown back. I needed 6 treatments and it was just under $1000. I am thrilled with results. P.S. Hair is dyed in after pic.

Your results look really great! When did you do it? My laser place said I might need up to 12 sessions and I had a bit less stubble than your before. The cost for me is about the same for 6 sessions.

Wow! Only $1000!  American Laser MedSpa wants $3500. With a Groupon discount of 50% after buying a $100 special that's still $1750. They wanted to charge an additional $275 because the hair is low on my neck.

$2125 total. That's why I still haven't started.

 I went to Ideal Image once. Way too expensive. My plastic surgeon owns a YAG laser and in her office, she has a laser tech come in twice a week. Depending on the area, a six treatment package is very economical.

I used Simplicity Laser. It took 3 treatments before I started seeing results, but it worked remarkably well - after 6 treatments almost all my darker hair is gone, but I've still got gray/white stuff remaining. A friend of mine also goes there for her laser treatments, and has seen good results (and she's has MUCH darker skin than me).
I got the 6 treatments for only $199 with a groupon.

Here in Antwerp, my regular price is 480 EUR (= 570 USD) for 6 sessions, beard + neck. I found the regular prices in the U.S. very inflated... [emoji44]

So far I did 6 laser sessions (1/month) and would say that ~80% of dark hairs were gone by then. Then yesterday I had my first electrolysis session with pain pump (they use Ultiva [remifentanil], a very potent and very short-acting opiate, as the analgesic) × 4 hours and got rid of all the remaining dark hairs and most (~75%) of whites/greys (not enough time to get rid of all of them), which are almost all located under my jaw, so not really visible unless I let them grow 4-5 days. I'm planning on scheduling an 8-hour session (also with pain pump) in about 8 weeks, 10 days before my FFS. Electrolysis with pain pump costs €100/h (= US$120/h).

Wow, that's an amazing price. I imagine things like that are more expensive here due to excessive educational costs as well as exorbitant (and mostly useless) insurance costs.
