I don't know if there are many 'moms' available here for you to really dive into things and show you 'the ropes', but there are plenty of helpful and knowledgeable sisters (and brothers) willing to lend you all the advice they can! I recommend you just ask whenever you hit a bump and wonder how to tackle it, and read other peoples posts to see how they got started.
The most common advice for how to start you'll find on here is seek out a gender therapist. Thats a great way to start working through you feelings and starting to come up with a plan of how to proceed.. Ohw, and start with the reversible stuff, leave HRT and surgery for a little down the line!
Oh, and welcome :)

Also 1/2 of the population is your tutor. Watch and mimic what you like. About doing things you don't like. All women do that.
Consider this, "oh my gosh, I love those shoes, where did you get them." That is both a compliment and a self-serving question. Now you would know where to get a great pair of shoes or at least a store that carries a style you like.
The thing I look for and mimic the most is make-up. I look at women's make-up all the time. And I take mental notes about what I like and dislike. But more importantly AGE. The make-up on a 22 year old gorgeous college student is probably not appropriate for a 55 year old office worker. I'll add that this approach works. In the last week I've have 3 people compliment my make up while talking about other things.
Look around, watch, copy... I agree with the comment of do temporary stuff. Wear women's panties or tights under your clothes. Be very very careful with bras. All it takes is a pat on the back or a hug to spoil your day.
Good luck.
