Hi, my name if Briana.  Not new to the forum but new as a member.  I've been MtF trans for a long time and leaning and growing throughout the entire journey.  I'm married to a wonderful and very understanding and accepting woman.  As for family, some are accepting...many are not, and a handful are at least tolerant.

Like many here, I knew at a very early age.  My first memories of realizing something was different or "off" were at the age of 4.  My mom said I would put on her pantyhose, and one of her blouses and shuffle around in a pair of her heels and a purse.  My father didn't find it so funny.  That's a whole different post though. 

When I met my wife to be, we were both pretty young.  She was fully aware of my cross dressing at the time and very supportive.  We had fun with "it".  She would regularly supply me with various underthings and and when the opportunities arose, even let me wear her clothing.  All throughout our courtship she was supportive and an active participant if you will.  LOL

We had some great conversations about where our relationship was going, goals, expectations, and what we thought the future would look like.  We eventually got married and raised a wonderful family.  While there certainly were ups and downs, the usual day to day frustrations, and careers, we've had a wonderful life together. 

During this whole time, my cross dressing waxed and waned depending on what was going on in our lives.  She continued to be supportive but we both felt very strongly about also being very secretive.  We also had many discussions during this time about what the future possibly held and what she was and was not ok with.  For both of us, we felt strongly that any steps beyond what we enjoyed together privately would have to wait till the kids were grown and out of the house. 

Eventually, I stared that journey with my wife.  Despite being stressful and very difficult at times, we've pushed forward and are forging a new life together.  Life isn't always good, easy, fair or equal, but we're sure enjoying it.
