Title: Officially Out!

This week I officially came out to my school and all my friends as April! Everyone has been so accepting and supportive of me, which I guessed would be the case considering I go to cosmetology school. It's still a little awkward at times as i'm still in the process of getting my name and gender legally changed, so in some areas I still have to go by my male name. But it is just soooo freeing to be who I've always known I am and not have to play the facade anymore! I've also noticed I've gotten a lot closer to my female friends, they see me as one of the girls now, which is awesome!

April, that's wonderful news, I'm very happy you've had good support and acceptance. It's lovely to read how the dial has moved for younger generations. X

April!!! Congrats, it is a relief to out to even part of the world. It is a relief on our gd and just to our psyche. I am a little jealous I want to go to cosmetology school! I have also noticed the same that I have gotten closer to my female friends. They have been supportive and give me tips on things.

Yeah, I've wanted to transition since i was in high school, but even in the early 2000's the lack of acceptance for us transpeople made me too fearful to. So this is quite a long time coming for me and even i'm jealous of the younger generations, lol.
