Title: Interesting has anyone heard of this????
Post by: Jordan on December 13, 2007, 07:37:08 AM
I found this on TS womens resources, I am very confused but hey to each their own right?

http://www.annelawrence.com/meettess.html

Has anyone else had this done, whats it like as far as the differences involved, complications, ect?

Putting aside the effects of testosterone... Sterility will still occur with even no HRT.

Putting those inside will bake the sperm , and potentially damage the testes functionality as they are outside of the body to stay cool.

Just a thought

That is a very valid point I hadnt even considered it, thank you for your insight

Although I dont think that sterility is important as she probally wont be trying to get anyone pregnant (???? how would that work?)

the point that the testi could die, or ultimatly need to removed is plausible right??

I meen the point I got is that she did it for a guranteed orgasmic abilty right?

That's not for me.  I wanted to take revenge on my testicles.  I wanted the Dr. to put them in a blender once they were out.

I'm in denial that I have those things...Oh sorry "what testes?"............the mentioned approach is not for me ,but I'm sure some people may feel comfortable with it. HRT has done more for me than just work on the outside, it's changed my thinking and feeling. Try doing that with operations

????????????????WHY,  Sorry no thanks.  If I wanted that then there would be no reason to keep on all the T blockers and the E.   :o  I think maybe that having the surgery wouldn't be right if you felt that way.  but who am I to judge others.

I think we've discussed this before.  We came to the conclusion that it would be possible for them to kind of die in there.  Plus we had a theory that if you bumped into a table the pain would be unbearable.

I wouldn't recommend it, but I'm not a doctor or even a dentist.

Yes.  I raise chickens specifically bred to bite off and swallow men's genitals.

Don't tell anybody.

If she wants to keep the horrid little things, who are we to say she's wrong. On the other hand, I don't understand the decision. Testosterone is produced in the outer layer of the adrenals and that's enough for me.

I can only disagree with the whole thing. I really am not certain if this person should be accepted for SRS if not on HRT. Some of us are refused SRS for lesser discrepancies.

Typical of peeps that mix "sexual issues" with gender identity.  What's the point of going through this irreversible surgery if peeps want to keep part of the male genitalia? this person must have paid a lot of money to get "her" wishes.  I dont see how it could be done without a savings account with lots of zeros and from a surgeon that is well respected in the community. Yucky!

Not true, sorry. The temperature only effects the production of sperm. The other functions will remain intact as long they receive proper blood flow. How sensitive they would be depends on how much nerve tissue remained attached when the testes were moved and the amount of regrowth in the new location.

Which reminds me, don't forget there's going to be another person on top of you sometimes and their body weight may be pressing down on those things or possibly even bumping against them.   I don't care what anybody says.  It has to be painful.

Yucky yucky the more I think of it the more disturbing it gets just imagining it. I went for this because I wanted to be as 100% female as a good surgeon could make it happen. Why on Earth would one want to keep those things?

I suppose they'd be worth keeping if you could dry them out and carve them into a pair of dice.  Then, they'd at least be useful and you could just play with them anywhere you go without being yelled at.

i don't see why we can't accept this as an alternative lifestyle. yes, it's hard to think of her as a girl, but since she presents herself as one, i must assume she wants to be referred to as "miss." though i don't want them, i still have mine, and they never stopped me from being girly. you know?

Gender identity isn't the be all and end all of a persons existence.  Jeeze, are you so wrapped up in this one issue that you can't balance it out with other concerns?  I don't see how keeping the testicles negates any of the other advantages of SRS.  If that's the only thing on your mind then why not just have an orchidectomy?

I find the suggestion that thinking outside the box and making choices that balance up all of ones different concerns would have a higher regret rate than blindly following a 'one size fits all' treatment path rather amusing.

I suspect the real issue here is people are worried about being lumped into the same category as 'weirdos like that'.  awww

I agree... This isnt a one size fits all world, in fact personally I can see the advantages to keeping the testicles, they are similar to ovaries, and it would help to gurantee physical pleasure/orgasm in the neo vagina.  ;D

And people can say all day, well sex and pleasure arent important in the choice to have SRS and I agree, but GEE wouldnt it be nice to know a little bit better than a coin toss that, that will still be there, I think thats all this individual was trying to do.

Oh, I have no problem with anyone's personal decision on how to live.  It's just that I have accidentally had my testes pushed up where they don't belong and it hurts hurts hurts.  I just have this intense fear that someone will suffer pain they hadn't foreseen by doing this.  Other than that, I'm fine with whatever decision a person makes concerning their body.

Hi Rebis
Well I had them sent to another dimension and I don't really care where those nasty things went to, perhaps testicle heaven along with with my pee pee? Or what about in a dusty desert like gulch on another planet in another dimension? Just not Mars, that's my planet and I have first bids on it when it gets teraformed to its original state as a water world. I can see the Dunes of Mars Warrior Princess standing atop a huge cliff over looking the Turquoise Ocean with her long hair streaming behind her in the wind coming from the ocean. She closes her black eyes with the long lashes and spreads her arms out in thanks giving prayer for her revived home.

It's good old fashioned fear MeganRose... "Different" appears to equal "Threatening"  Not quite sure where when or how this happened but as the world turns...  And for the record had I been born with testicles I wouldn't want to keep them either.  However, I don't consider those who think different from me to be wrong. . . Just different.  "different strokes for different folks"  "whatever floats your boat" "whatever fries your bacon".... you see what I'm getting at.

Thank you Megan Rose!!!!!!!

I feel the same way about the reactions the "vets" here have posted. Those feelings and viewpoints are EXACTLY the same as non-transgendered people's on who we are. They would say, "Why aren't they happy with what they are born with, they must be freaks."

For some of you people, to be in your situation, you have no grounds to be discriminatory. I quit this forum before, and I regret going back and reading things like this.

Who is to say who qualifies for SRS. One can even make a case that those who are transgendered, gay, etc. are not normal people, that they have genetic flaws, (i.e., that your decision does not lead to procreation), and should be put down.

Great freakin' merry christmas. Get off your high horses.

Exactly we're all freaks in the eyes of society.  Most of us don't deserve it, those 'freaks' who get off on calling those even less 'normal' than themselves freaks however, do deserve it.  You just know some people here would be massive transphobes had they been born in the right body.

For the most part some of us were simply only making fun about testes. Not telling anyone what to think, feel or do about it. Yes I am post-op so what's wrong with joking about certain parts of our body that we went through a lot of pain even fear of dying, I didn't know what to expect I never had any kind of surgery before, and not to mention thee money to have them removed. I am sincerely sorry if that offended someone, it wasn't meant to be. What ever floats your boat and I hope it don't spring a leak.

Hey, Hey, Hey  I dont think a single person here is disgusted by the individual, they expressed thier disgust towards testicles,  I didnt start this thread to have it turn into a fight about objective understanding and acceptance of those that are different, BECASUE thats a given in life.

We are all different in life, and any variation of different, or even not should be accepted and non biased against, after all we are all homosapiens I hope.

Cindy is right.  We were looking at the initial idea with humor and caring.  None of us were attacking people who want to keep their things.  Some of us were expressing curiosity that anyone would want them is all.  In my case, I was afraid it might lead to health problems. No judgments were being made, for the most part.

I don't know if expressing disappointment or anger towards another person in a post is really a good thing.  Everybody is different and everybody has their personal belief system.  Sometimes, if an idea or position causes a negative emotion, it is probably best to take a break and respond with a positive point of view.

I'm not naming anyone because I'm not blaming anyone.

Remember, civility is our friend.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we are not supposed to judge anyone. Sure!  ::)  but this is the kind of BS that needs to stop in the first place if "we" want respect and acceptance from society.  Sorry everyone, I don't know what planet you are from, but as far as I am concerned, the society I am from pays attention to all these crap.  Shallow?  close-minded?  Maybe!  but like it or not this is the kind of society/world we live in.  If you want to delude yourselves, fine be my guest, but don't suggest that EVERYONE has to believe what YOU do.

I'm not too sure what you mean by this. Are you saying that if we , as a whole community, want acceptance from society instead of ridicule, then we have to ridicule instead of accept those that don't follow the ->-bleeped-<- "status quo"?

I'm not sure. Look, the only reason I started posting in this thread in the first place is because it upset me to see people making rather unfair comments ABOUT A REAL PERSON. I don't think what this woman did is really up for any to judge, she felt it was what she had to do, it doesn't affect anyone else's life here one tiny iota, so I don't see why the judging should happen anyway.

I don't know why ideas such as compassion, acceptance and tolerance become such dirty words here, when subjects like this come up. And I don't think the old "well, the world isn't a compassionate, accepting and tolerant place" arguement should really hold any ground. Sure, for a lot of the time it isn't. But people here really should know better than to let that justify them join in on the judging and ridicule.

And I guess I should say as well, obviously I'm not painting everyone with the same brush. Yes, I understand some people were just joking around, I didn't like that but I can see there was no malice involved. It was just the comments that went past being light-hearted and joking around, and went straight to judging this individual for the choice she made, that really got me upset.

Tink, I'm not trying to attack you.

I'm just concerned about what you are saying, that because the world isn't the perfect, Utopian, "let's love and accept everyone and not judge them for the choices they make so they can live a better life" place that it's OK to just buy into the ignorance or the indifference.

As a marginal community in the grand scheme of things at best, and one that sees a lot of ignorance or indifference from a rather large portion of the rest of society, I can't help but feel like we should be supporting each other, not judging or ridiculing those that at least share some common ground, becuase they decided to do it a little different from how you or anyone else did it. Is that fair enough?

It's not something I would even consider, but I find it fascinating.  I always wonder if eventually they will be able to perform ovary transplants in TS.  I believe they did a uterus transplant earlier this year in a GG.

Human beings come in all flavors, this one is particularly unique.

Happy Festivus!  ...for the rest of us

Well I thought I came from the Pterodactyl species but maybe that was when Mars was a water world. Hmmmmmmmmmm. No I got that wrong, I was a mermaid. I think Pteradactyles came from Betelgeuse. Land of the one eyed monster. Or was that wingbats? "Hee, hee, hee."
