Susan's Place Transgender Resources

I finally got my FFS! I went to Dr. Cardenas because I like a lot of his work and he is very affordable. Today is the 2 week mark exactly. I had my hairline lowered, eyebrows lifted, type 3 brow bone (though I think he might have just done type 1 and told me he did type 3), Jaw contouring, chin contouring, fat injection to chin, fat injection to lips, and a lip lift.

The transop team is great by the way. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful to me and I felt so comfortable and at home in the recovery house. On one of the days when I was feeling a little better, I asked the chef, Blanca, if I could cook with her, and she taught me 3 traditional Mexican dishes in exchange for prep work. Vicente is absolutely amazing. He drove me all over and we got a chance to hang out around the house here and there. Just a bunch of great people in general. I will type up a full experience report when I have the time.

I am super prone to self deprecation and seeing myself as being hideous (conditioning oi). These last few days I have been particularly self deprecating and cruel to myself. I am not sure if it is in my head or if he did not go as far as he might have. Part of it is not having had makeup on since before surgery (I wear a ton of makeup in my day to day and I am actually quite good at it. I also very much regret not being able to afford rhinoplasty as I think I would pass if I had gotten my nose done (maybe?).

Anyway, I wanted to share the results.

So pretty girl!

I would have gotten Rhino, but I couldnt afford it :c If he had initially recommended it to me I would have saved for it, but when I had my consultations he said my nose was already a girls nose. Of course, he had not seen it in person. In person, he thought I could benefit from it as a detail that would bring everything together. But I went down with enough cash to pay for my surgery and take 6 weeks off work comfortably.

I plan on visiting him again as soon as possible for rhinoplasty and a bbl.

And maybe yall are right and im beating myself up for no reason. FFS brings up a lot of complicated emotions and gosh what a physical and emotional rollercoaster these last two weeks have been.

I would highly recommend transop, by the way. I honestly cant say enough good things about their staff c:

I have like the worst self image in the world. I am trying to work on it, but dysphoria is hard for me q.q

That's insane sweetie. When I first glanced through the first pictures I actually thought your before pics were after FFS lol. Then I read the captions and saw the ones recovering and after. You are a beautiful woman, end of story.

I think you look beautiful both before and after you look stunning I wish I could look half as good as you, I also love your Hair.

That eased my spirits a lot. I am still very much recovering. I accidentally slept on my face last night  :o :( :o BIG MISTAKE. I am naturally a sleeping face down kind of girl, so sleeping on my back has been hard and I havent been sleeping a lot since coming off the heavier pain meds. Anyways I got really great sleep last night, too good to notice I was on my face, and now everything is super swollen again and ouch. q.q

You were a gorgeous woman BEFORE surgery.  Go easy on yourself. ;)

Two weeks is not enough time for all the swelling to go down. Just the surgery on my nose took nearly a year to fade. After the surgery, the general shape of the nose was better as the initial goal was to get the bump off it. Strangely, the longer I looked at it and watched the final shape develop, the more I liked it. Granted, swelling is slow to leave my body but you should reserve judgement for a few months and I think you will find the surgery was a bit more aggressive than it appears.

Ill upload some update pics in just a bit. Im still doing the whole kicking myself around over thinking i still look like a man thing. Bleh. I think i need to go to counselling to help with that. Like with most of us,people were very cruel to me when i came out and i just have this extreme self deprecating complex about how i look. I still havent even let my partner see me since gettimg home even though i know he will adore me regardless.I'm really starting to miss him too :c

I have dysmorphia which means i can never see myself properly so i sorta know how  you might feel

I hope the lip lift settles down for you quickly.  It looks good, but can feel wonky for quite a while, until the scar softens.

I have really bad dysmorphia too Markie. For what it's worth, you look gorgeous to me!

The inside of my mouth is still so swollen and hard to move. I sound funny when I talk right now too lol and eating is so hard. It's kind of odd, the swelling comes and goes. These really dense, hard patches of what feels like flexed muscle keep popping up and vanishing along my jaw line. Its hard to tell how much swelling is still on my brow, but it is all very sore and it feels as if there is still a good bit.

I honestly can't wait for all the swelling to go down so I can see my new look. I have a strong feeling I'm going to want revisions though :c

There are some wounds surgery can't fix.  Looking to have more cosmetic surgery before you can even see the results of the last is concerning.  I hope you are getting good counseling.

You're very pretty! I think you have a unique look and I'm sure you're a great person too. As trans girls we tend to be hard on ourselves because we feel we need to be..

Go to your partner girl! Stop denying yourself, live life and if something gets you down- and has been consistently for a while- then counseling is a good idea !

Thx for that Clefairy that was a makeover i had done to make me feel better , lots of foundationmakeup etc,
Dysmorphia is a awful thing , one has to be careful  for myself i use the input of others opinions  as a sounding board to base my own perceptions on , sometimes i think that perhaps having a good artist doing  a blacka nd white sketch might be the way to go ...mirriors and cameras can be distortive whereupon the view point of another human being would at least give the real perception of another
Well you could get your ears pointed ....i am i'll see if Dr c is up for it ...another wise i'll use the same body modification artist who tinted my eyes

OMG girl you were amazingly beautiful before ffs! When I started looking at your first pic I thought maybe you were the guy friend half covering your face! Really. ;)

I bet he did type 1 brow because from what I can see in your before pics I don't think you had enough of a frontal sinus bulge to require cutting and resetting the bone.

If it's not intruding too much, would you share how much your surgery cost you?

I am the same way. Never enough really. I have had two body shaping surgeries and my therapist was worried I would go overboard.
You will get over it in time. I have to look in the mirror to realize how much I changed after FFS.
Men melt around me and I still have issues with worry about how I look.
You are prettier than 90 percent of CIS women.
Funny but being really pretty is great but it does not make us happy.
These days I go out without makeup.  I even saw a customer the other day.. no makeup and it was so empowering.
I am beautiful and I am jealous of you girl..

SAME! I thought the before pic was the after pic! You look amazing. Can't wait to see more once the swelling has gone down.

You look really cute and girlish!   For our community maybe the surgeries are addictive.  If you want to do your nose later, you can go to someone local who does good noses.   I got about 20k of work done by Dr. Z and decided i needed a lower eyelid job.  Our best local plastic surgeon did a wonderful job on my eye lids and it only cost my husband a day off of work.   Everyone else is right-it does take time to get the swelling down.

You are a really lucky lady!   Do not over do this really great result with too much!
