Hi, everybody, guess it's time I started posting here. I'm Ava (19). I've been out for about a year now and been on estrogen for a little over three months.
I'm just here to get a little more comfortable in my own skin and I'm hoping that getting to talk to other transgender people will help me do that. There aren't really alot of trans folks where I live and even the support groups nearby (which are probably about a 2 or 3 hour drive) tend to be made up of people who are much older than me and at very different points in their lives that it can be hard to feel like a "peer group". As supportive as my friends and family have been in all of this it can feel really alienating to have no one to go to who can really understand and empathize with what I'm experiencing. I'm hoping that posting here will give me the chance to talk to some people who can do this a bit better and help me be a bit more comfortable through this whole thing. I look forward to talking to you all :)

Hi Ava 🙋♀️ Welcome to Susan's. I'm Jessica and this is my first greeting as an official greeter. Susan's has a wide range of ages of trans-women and men at different stages in their transition. All offer great support that can be equal to face to face therapy. Julia has welcomed you already and she is about your age. She has great insight that helps everyone here. Have fun!
I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them especially the RED one as we are always getting questions that are answered there.
Big hugs, Jessica 💁♀️

Back at you Eva. My situation is somewhat reversed as I am older and my support group at Ingersol Gender Center are mostly young UW students. I live in Seattle where there is a large transgender population. Especially in Capitol Hill. I like their compassion, their bond. I like the mature way they explorer their sexuality, and the positivity in which they speak. Young people are the leaders of tomorrow and they are much smarter than we were. Growing up with access to the internet has been a big advantage. For example, I could not get my son to crack a book. But, let that book be on the computer and viola. I also have a baby granddaughter that will inherit our bad decisions. This is not the outcome I had wanted. Where hate, permeates the environment and value of human life is diminished. Stand up to them my dear. The reigns will soon be handed over and I hope we have not screwed things up so much you can't fix it.
