Title: FEAR!

I am reminded of a quote by Frank Herbert in "Dune". I believe it applies to many of us.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
― Frank Herbert, Dune

I love that book, and the movies, and mini series!

Reading your quote reminded me of one of the other postings that's current, re well meaning people saying "you're so brave"
It's a bit like suggesting a fire man isn't brave, he's just doing his job, by running straight into a blazing building.
All of us in our journeys may be only doing what's necessary for us personally, but I believe, whilst I can see it causes angst for others, it's quite a well intentioned comment as courage is certainly needed to face family friends etc.

Since reading that in the 70's, I have tried to live my life this way and any ridicule was ignored in the moment. "
There is nothing to fear but fear itself" -FDR

One of my all time favorite novels! I've gotten into the habit of saying it to myself when I'm anxious about something. It really helps!

I get a feeling of strength from it, with calm resolve.
