Hi Everyone,
Been on hormones for 3 months now and I'm finding it so hard to get comfortable whilst sleeping. If anything touches my chest it hurts, joining the itty bitty titty committee is the greatest but not liking this part. Will it always be like this? Any advise on best sleeping positions?

I remember that phase all to well, I'd like to tell you it gets better with time. I'm sure everyone will vary, but I've had to completely change the way I sleep.. I'm cresting on a year now... Still can't front face in the shower... Simply too uncomfortable... The girls are more than happy to remind you when you're doing it wrong. Oh another spoiler; they will also be really sensitive when it gets cold. In the end you accommodate them.
Best wishes

When I first started on HRT, I found that sleeping on my side was best with the upper arm draped over my breasts.
Also, I always wore something comfortable made of cotton to cover my breasts.

Usually, I sleep on my side. Occasionally, if I can't get to sleep, the only way I can fall asleep is on my stomach. Then, I have to arrange the girls very carefully.

Wakes me up roughly every other night - habit of rolling over during my sleep I wasn't aware of, now it's ouch and I realize why. I'm not complaining, after awhile I'll probably re-learn how to sleep without interruption.
I was breastless in Seattle. Now sleepless in Seattle.

Yes, Robin it goes in and out of pain!!!!! You will find they get painful prior to any growth. Now as far as what I suggest for sleeping. I have found that sleeping on my back or on my side is fine. Now if you are a front sleeper that is uncomfortable for sure and you might want to try something else. I should say congrats!!!!!!

Very well thank you. Unless they are conservative. >:-) I honestly have not felt any different. No lumps or bumps but I did not have surgery either. I'm ah natural. Very much a C cup. They do have a tendency to sting and burn once in a while. It's uncomfortable and then it goes away.

My AAs haven't woken me up yet, they're certainly sensitive though. My prostate used to wake me up like clockwork after about 5 hours, but has shrank to the point where it shouldn't happen anymore, but I wake up around that time a lot anyway for some reason. Awesome side benefit, being able to pee again.
I'm a side sleeper too, guess I don't move around much. I did have to adjust a bit, which I imagine will be more and more the case as they grow.

Even when that pain was relatively new and intense, it was good pain for me. Sure they hurt and being forced to acknowledge them was great.
I found sleeping on my side wasn't much relief and my best position was propping my shoulders on a pillow which made enough space to afford some comfort. That's still how I sleep the most and at 2 years HRT, they aren't especially painful now.

I fondly remember waking up afterwards starting E saying "ok, no more sleeping on my stomach."
I found it very reassuring and comforting at the time and I guess I still do. But what I did was to loosely hug a pillow. I wouldn't be stomach flat to the bed and not in my side either. More like diagonal. It provided the comfort and relief at the same time.
Enjoy the roller coaster.

I sleep the same way as Denise. I use a small body pillow with a part of it bent under my neck, the rest between my arm that is against the bed, and higher breast. I remember finding this sleeping position after months low sleep hours with out any research. Hopefully this all helps.

I use to sleep on my left side. After HRT, FFS, GCS and a BA I sleep on my back and definitely with a loose thick cotton shirt.

Ah yes, that initial pain and swelling, I tried sleeping several ways but found the most comfortable was to cup each breast in the palm of my hands while sleeping on my belly
For some reason the pressure would equal out the pain somehow, the only problem I ran into is my arms would go to sleep and I'd wake up with that numb tingling from my hands to my elbows which would make turning over or getting up rather difficult

I have always slept on my side before. Also they never really hurt like so many talk about, more of an achy burn. Inactivity, like sleeping, is fine but when I would start to move again, ouch! Ouch! Ouch! That hasn't happened very much in a while either. And no nipple sensitivity either. I would torture my boyfriend by straddling him while he is sitting on the sofa and put his head under my shirt, wait for him to get all hot and hard then just hop up and go do something else. It didn't do anything for me, well the grinding did but not the breast play, so no problemo.
Now over three years in on hrt things are different. Working nightshift, I will occasionally take a nap in the early afternoon on Saturday and I have to lay on my stomach so my hair doesn't get messed up. The C cup breasts do not like that at all, I lay with two pillows from my hips to my boobs and then a throw pillow under my face. They settle perfectly on the bed with no pressure. Sometimes one of my hands fall asleep or my bf wakes me up to go somewhere and I have giant lines on my face that do not go away for an hour but other than that it works well. I also have pain now if anything catches a nipple, like almost tears pain. And the whole torture the boyfriend thing has gone full circle. There is some direct connection from my nipples down to my groin, I mean, oh My GOD! and he is merciless. I still straddle him, sometimes to play and sometimes to get his full attention. I have to take his attention off the game or the history channel or the news, seriously when I ask how I look he could at least look up from the television before he says, "You look great sweetie." :icon_evil: :icon_yikes: :icon_userfriendly: Anyway he goes to them right away to shut me up and I have to run away, or at that point it is usually stumble away. Is that humiliating or what?!? This morning I am giving him crap because he never closes doors or drawers while I, who takes muuuuuccccchhhh longer to get ready by the way, am bending over closing them he comes up from behind and starts grinding on me. When that didn't stop me from reading him the riot act he reached around to my boobs. Grr! So now I am bent over, vacantly staring at the open drawer, not able to breath right and he is blissfully back to brushing his teeth to the sound of my silence. >:( He may be pure evil.
It is possible to be comfortable, you may just have to experiment a little.

Spiro is a diuretic and as such makes you pee at inopportune times. Lucky me, gets to take Lasix too. I walk past a rr and I have to pee. My diabetic neuropathy may have something to do with the lack of feeling.

Hi Dawn, I had BHP already - swollen prostate getting in the way of flow and completeness with urinating, it wasn't until 5 months of HRT that the problem suddenly vanished. Spiro hadn't helped, it hasn't made me pee more at all really.
I keep a blanket under my side, too. It provides a bit of cushioning.

I do need boob support during the day, so an underwired bra is essential wear.
I have had no real issues in bed, but I usually wear a soft cup bra in a larger cup size with nipple shields and soft tissue padding to prevent nipple compression & chafe. The nipple protection is essential after an evening on the breast pump!

I learned how to sleep on my side, and I was a true tummy sleeper.
During growth periods, I would sleep with a cushion near my breast area to help support them. Now that my breasts are pretty much grown, I still don't sleep on my stomach as I have D cups, still uncomfortable, not painful. I did learn the importance of a good bra that offers good support for the day time.

Any way that doesn't crush them and still feels comfortable?
Huh, after so long dealing with them it's second nature and I never thought about it. Not on the front anyway. That hasn't been possible since I was 18.

I only had a short time of adjusting it seems. I had some mild gynocamastia long before HRT so I guess I learned to never apply pressure to the nipple and ariolas or else pain would be there. When I was beginning HRT there was a time when tissue growth did make them more uncomfortable. It seems adding a bit of fat to my body has definately cushioned them where even during growth phases I rarely notice the aching at all. I have always been a side sleeper so early on I just had to make slight adjustments to make sure not to squeeze the lower one onto the mattress. Now I wear a sports bra when I sleep and don't notice that I ever crush them. I wonder if being on progesterone since the fourth month of HRT has helped with fat deposits around my breasts or not. I don't know for sure but they have always developed rounded. I can say having fat around them makes them rounder, fuller looking, and protects the sensitive parts but you NEED a good bra traveling on rough roads.

Usually without a bra, unless I'm literally blackout tired.
I sleep on my back, on my side, or I'll have a nest of pillows and lay on my front without crushing my boobage.
I tend to toss and turn most nights unable to sleep anyways so, there's that.

Hi Kendra;
Since I have been on Prometrium (micronised progesterone) taken nightly about 30 mins before I go to bed, I now sleep really soundly for 8 hours a night.
Its good to get a good nights rest and wake up to bigger breasts into the bargain. I have been on Prometrium for two months so far. Only positive results!.

LOL Careful there!! Not sure would wish that size on anybody (never was a real 'breasts fan') My chief problem is work and the incessant bouncing that comes from driving a heavy truck. Finding a proper band size in a smaller cup (38A?) can prove difficult am thinking stretching a 36 might be ok??

I learned to sleep on my back. It's the only comfortable position I can find. After 15 months on HRT my breasts have grown far beyond my expectations. I remember when they were an A cup and I was happy. Then came a B cup, I was like "Wow". Then came a C cup and I was like "Holy cow". Now I'm creeping into a D cup and I'm hoping they stop soon LMAO. I still have the same growing pain I had when I first started developing breasts. Oh and not to forget the insistent itching.

At one time long before HRT and transitioning I was almost always a stomach sleeper... now with a C-cup that no longer works... I usually start out on my back and in the middle of the night I will shift to one side or another, but not too far to the side or else a boob gets the squeeze.
