Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Okay so I get this call for a chance to work at a firework store for the new years rush. I thought I would be working the register but they only needed order pickers still. Sounded crappy but I I thought I could use the money. So I decided to take the job. When you take an order, you have to write your name on the forum. Super boring, you just go building to building getting stuff. Everyone was really quiet. After I'm about to write my real name Kent on a forum for like the third time, I'm just like no it's Nina. So I started writing Nina on the paper. Then I mess up on a order, and the whole place is looking for a woman. I finally heard one guy shout, who is Nina? And I shout back ya I'm Nina. Everyone looks really confused. I got some random questions, like ooh is that Spanish? Finally someone asked me if that was my real name, and I told her no, but I like that name because I'm transgender. After that everyone was curious and kept talking to me and asking me questions. I started wearing shiny chap stick the next day, got a few weird looks, but more smiles than anything. Last day I worked there, I wore contacts, put on some mascara and hot pink lipstick. It surprised quite a people, but most of the girls there were really excited to see me in makeup. And after the initial shock, no one treated me different, actually they seemed to like me more.

After the end shift on new years eve, the store threw a party inside. I could write a giant wall about all that happened, but I'll just give the highlights. We played a game of vodka pong, guys vs girls, and they put me on the girls team. One of the owners, he gave me a stuff animal with one of those I love you hearts as a present. I was dancing with the group of girls, actually I was the main star, and one of the guys got behind me and we started grinding on each other. He only likes women too, so it was funny and sweet at the same time. And the coolest thing that happened that night was my friends got way too drunk. And her best friend had to leave the party and asked me to take care of her. So i put her to bed with a bucket and some water. I won't get into the gory details about that. But it ended with us both being naked except for our bottoms, sleeping in the same bed. She trusted me that much, and she's very beautiful. I've never had an experience anything like it. It was one of the most comforting feelings in the world. And it made me realize that even with this body of mine, all she sees in the girl inside of me. Never thought at my age, I'd become so close of friend with an 18 year old or in such a short period. We already have plans, where she's gonna give me a make over and teach me how she puts on her makeup. Cause we have the same kind of style. It's like I gained a a little sister.

And after only working at this place for what 4 or 5 days, I've add about 15 new people from that job to my facebook. And decided to change my name on facebook to Nina!And I'm gone start on legally changing my real name before I even start with hormones. Even did my errands with lipstick on today. I'm just gonna keep barreling forward. Screw waiting for the right time. :)

What a great story, Nina!  It goes to show that, for all our fears, the majority of people really are nice.
