As the title suggests It is probably time to introduce myself after lurking a bit.
I'm Sarah, 36 years on this crazy planet, spent most of my life trying to figure out who I am. Although that is still a work in progress. All I know for sure is that I can't continue with the status quo without serious repercussions. I started to transition a little more than a year ago through therapy, and further exploring my feminine side and realizing that is the true me. I have had a hard time putting an accurate label on myself, finally realizing queer suits me best. an evolving identity as I sort myself out maybe...
I'm hoping within the next few months ill be able to start hrt, appointments have been scheduled, letters have been put in the post, and dinner is in the microwave.
I have read quite a few posts, there are so many similar experiences shared here and the more I read the more I feel I belong in this community.
I try to enjoy music and electronics when I can get it together enough. Occasionally do outdoor stuff with family. Haven't encountered a machine I can't fix, and if its not broken ill probably take it apart anyways just to have a peek. Most of my friends are hippies or nerds or a combination of the two. I have a fairly supportive family given their understanding of my situation. I often use humor as a coping tool, although its hit or miss with that but so much cheaper than pot. I homebrew every now and then with my brother.
Not sure what else to add, don't be afraid to ask.
Sarah ;)

Hi Sarah 🙋♀️ Welcome to Susan's. I'm Jessica. It's good to make an introduction. It took me awhile also after posting for a bit. Laurie "in topic" posted some links to help you become better acquainted with the site. In case you missed it since the thread was locked and you hadn't commented again, I'll post them again for you. Happy your here and sharing your experiences!

Hi again Sarah,
I'm Laurie and I caught you lurking elsewhere and I think invited you to make this post. Thank you for telling us more about yourself. Figuring out who and what we are isn't easy as it sounds like you already know. I myself thought I was a crossdresser for 64 years but knew there was something missing. I found out what it was in November of 2016 and started taking HRT a month later. It still is easy as I am still struggling to accept who I am. Knowing and accepting are two different things in my case. Plus I have other issues to contend with.
Anyway Sarah what I am saying is this quest can take some time and it doesn't need to be done right away. If you are trying to figure it out all by yourself I would recommend a gender therapist. And of course we have information here that might be of help along with a lot of people that are at various points in their own journeys to help also. So know that we are here for you and you are welcome here.
Hugs,
Laurie

Hello!
I'm a trans-woman from the UK. I (and I'm sure many others) also spent many years figuring out who or what we are. And what that ever that is, it doesn't have have to be fixed either, life changes us, that's a reality.
The fun is in experimenting and learning about ourselves as we journey through life.
I'm sure you'll find friends and experiences here to help you along your road [emoji4]
