Title: Fellow trans, are RPGs addictive to you?
Post by: stmoraza on January 22, 2018, 02:16:05 PM
I've always been loving video games in my life, yet I find RPGs (particularly those in which character creation is possible) are particuarly attractive since it is the most accessible way to actually experience a life as a female. Does any of you share the same feeling?

Most definitely, but my biggest addiction RPG wise are tabletops. I LOVE Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder!

Totally.
A lot of the stuff I love does not exist, which makes me sad, but in RPGs I can have a lot of that stuff.
Things like the fashion style, magic, different worlds, elves (I like elves leave me alone!) I love a lot of that stuff.

Some of my favorites btw are Dark Souls, Witcher 3, Skyrim, and if you wanna include MMORPGs then WoW and ESO.

Definitely not. I find them to be a waste of money and time.

I love Tabletop RPGs and have played several computer rpgs and MMORPG games. I also like the Sims. But I don't have much time to play PC games and limit my tabletop to one day a week.

For sure!  I love RPGs, but usually I will only play ones that are FPS (first person sword or first person shooter).  I am a PC gamer and like first person RPGs.  It is definitely a bonus when I can create and customize my character. :)

Totally not interested in games these days. I have far too much to do in real life.

I don't have anywhere near as much time as I had for playing games now but sure, I like RPGs.

Absolutely!I'll always be a gamer and I love a story.
Even better if I can play as a female character too.

Yes I love RPGs especially Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne (among very many others).  And I've played D&D, Werewolf the Apocalypse, and Call of Cthulhu tabletop.  I think RPG and ->-bleeped-<- are a natural pair.

I've spent entire days playing RPGs, specially MMOs. Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft, Silkroad, Perfect World, Jade Dynasty, Lineage, and the list goes on.

I couldn't agree more to this, specially the fashion part. I wish I could have all the outfits from Jade Dynasty. The magic, worlds and elves can be discussed....

Yup. I feel like if I lived in a place where people dressed like they do in fantasy and if I could cast spells for real, I'd be a lot happier in life XD
Fashion wise Renascence time was a big influence on like elven fashion. If only I lived during Renascence time...
And if I had pointed ears 0.0

I literally just finished making a Mystic on Black Desert online with as close to my facial features as possible with some feminisation to the face. I made her as broad shouldered as I could to closely reflect my own build and cried a bit because it made me go 'you know what if I came out half as decent as this IRL when I go for it, I'd be pretty damn happy with the results'

Yeah, I particularly like GTA Online and Fallout 4 right now, even though they're a few years old. It's just super nice to be able to play as a woman.

Absolutely! RPGs have always been my go-to game style, and always felt drawn to games that would allow playing as female characters.

Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, and The Sims (not an RPG, I know) were my faves when I first started exploring my identity in High School. Games like Skyrim, Fallout, and Mass Effect are my biggest time drains now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nothing tops playing female in Dragon Age, marrying Alistair, and becoming a Queen.

... So yes, I love RPGs and get addicted to them.

Haha I liked Alistair but my girl was gay and had no interest in being a queen but she did like girls who would sing for her...so I chose...Sten :D

Oh absolutely! And even further, if the game doesn't allow me to play as a female, I won't touch it. Such as The Witcher. I can't do it.

There are others, like Skyrim with mods, that I love playing! It's always fun and challenging to try to make the character look like me. Sometimes I get a sexy version of me, sometimes I get a troll! I feel like char creation should be a game in itself lol

I too always play as a female and will pass on games with no player customization, like Kingdom Come. HOWEVER The Witcher 3 is the greatest game ever made. I didn't even think I'd like it at first but I've since spent 400 hours in it and I'm convinced if you push the right buttons that game will do your taxes and cure cancer. Everyone who has ever enjoyed an RPG or breathes air should play Witcher 3. You can get it for like $20 bucks I think and that's with the 2 DLCs that are huge and one of which is the best DLC I've ever played. Witcher 3 is the Goat.

I have never played an RPG.  It's more a young people's thing, and I'm an old biddy.

Hold your breath until it's installed so you can avoid all non Witcher 3 distractions.

Now that you mention it, while I never played D&D, I did play "Adventure" a few times, which was kind of the granddaddy of them all.

Of the digital world, yes it could definately take that title haha
But of the RPG world, there are much old ones in the realm of pen and paper <3

I've never played role play  games except for sex. I've never been into games/video games.

Oooooh the games...  I never really could get into them.

There were some games that I used to keep my mind off being like I am before I found a way to fix it. Baldur's Gate series was the only rpg though. I worked for many years staring at a monitor and not much to do I read a lot to pass the time and I had a PSP. The only two games I really liked were Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker and Monster Hunter. I don't need that anymore but I still play all 3 a little. I have sooooo much difficulty playing a game by myself, it just doesn't interest me, so I never play for long.

It really is incredible how many years I spent alone and the things I did to keep my mind off of my mind. 😃 What is that John Lennon song,'Whatever it Takes to Get You Through the Night'? I guess that I just don't want to live like that again, I want to live my life in my second chance at life and not watch from the bleachers again.

But...

Monster Hunter World huh? That's interesting.

They aren't addictive because I refuse to search for loot. Gimme a good weapon and a song to kill them by.
