I take Estradiol sublingual and I have no problem getting refills. This is just one advantage of sublingual tablets.

For injectable Estradiol, just talk to your local Pharmacist. They may have to order ahead of time or substitute a different brand or strength. Hit or miss supply, is really just not good planning by your Pharmacist for the need of his customers. As long as they know you will be getting your Estradiol at their store, they can have refills waiting for you.

I'm about half way through my bottle of brand name stuff. My insurance paid for the brand name since the generic was unavailable.
Haven't heard anything more, but I'll be needing a new bottle in about 5 weeks.

I haven't been able to get the 20/ml, but I got the 40 without issue (the doctor just prescribed half as much)

Haven't has any problems since over a year ago when there was a problem in manufacturing for both suppliers. I use the 40 mg/ml concentration and have presently got nearly 18 months supply in hand, glad to loan a vial to anyone having problems obtaining.

I had a lot of trouble getting my last script filled. For the past year I had no trouble obtaining 20mg/mL generic estradiol valerate. It took a month to get my last script filled. Ended up having to change pharmacies and had to pay 4x as much for name brand Delestrogen. Was lucky that I had several months reserve...

Ok this month CVS hasn't yet been able to fill it - 3 days late right now.

So I contacted Perrigo, maker of the generic and indeed the rep I talked to said the 40 mg/ml version went into backorder in late January and will be back into availability by early March.

I was told by my pharmacist that the 20 is not longer available so I switched to the 40 about 6 weeks ago.
The 40 is a higher concentration but I only use half as much.  It makes my leg ache for days afterward.  Like seriously, I'm limping around for a couple days after I inject it.

Not able to get the generic or brand name here in Southern California at the moment. Now trying to see if I can get Depo-Estradiol 5mL of 5mg/mL (Estradiol Cypianate). I've heard that it is about 3.5 times the strength of the 20mg Valerate and has half again longer half life. So don't need to shoot up as often. Will keep you appraised.

Back around this time last year my primary care physician said she wasn't putting new patients on injectables because of the "ongoing manufacturing issues".  Her words, not mine.

I filled delestrogen (brand name) today no issues. They had to order it but got it in the next day. This was cvs. My insurance is covering it at the generic rate since the generic is not available.

The manufacturing problem was because the only suppliers of estradiol valerate, Par and Perrigo both used castor oil sourced from the same vendor who had a quality problem so both were affected with no alternative supply.

It's true that patches work for some women, however injected is really then go to for older people or anyone with compromised liver function.

I've called many surrounding WM's and WG'S, surrounding Collierville where I live and to no avail - no luck. So It looks like I'm going to be without Hormones from my Doc. I'm hoping to give her one more call to see if she can get me on Oral (even tho it don't do much). But she's rather hesitant, fortunately I do have an ovary so that does help some, but not so much even with AA's.

Update:
On Friday I put in for a refill of the generic 40mg.
Today, they got in the name brand 20mg. It would seem the generic is unavailable.

I need to see if they can get the correct strength.

Of course consult with your doctor first Karyn but you should be able to simply double the injection volume to get the equivalent dose .. unless your dose is large enough that that would present a problem.

Meh thing is for me (aside from others) the Name Brand is immensely OoP (Out of Pocket) for me. Insurance for just the bare minimals (not even for Trans Health) would cost me 400 Bucks a month from Cigna (which happens to be the cheapest where I live). And I'm like well not even worth it honestly, so I just do without scrapping by with whatever Generic Brand I can afford from my doc.
