Hi all. Basics: 66, from the UK and living in France since 2006 with my female partner.
I had grs with Tim Terry in Leicester in 2001 and absolutely no problems since except that over the last couple of years I have developed a perineal hernia.
I saw a surgeon here yesterday who has proposed a procedure involving taking the gracilis muscle from one thigh to reinforce the perineal muscles and removing most of my vagina.
Well, as a 66 year old lesbian for whom sex is not the most important thing in the world and bearing in mind that my clit functions very well thank you, I am less worried about the loss of most of my vagina than my partner who knows what I went through to get it in the first place!
So, I'm basically asking if anyone here has had experience of a perineal hernia and with what outcome?

I don't have any suggestions on that specific issue, but you may want to post to the Post Operative Life forum (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,43.0.html) in case others may have similar experiences.
