Title: On dutasteride for about a year
Post by: AnneK on February 03, 2018, 09:17:35 AM
I have been taking dutasteride (generic Avodart) for almost a year, for BPH.  I have noticed some differences, aside from the intended medicinal benefits.  One is my libido is much lower.  The other is my breasts seem to be a bit bigger, filling my bra better.  Hopefully, this is real and not just wishful thinking.  Both of these are known side effects, though breast growth is less common than libido loss.  Both are welcome changes.

BTW, I am also taking  tamsulosin (Flomax).

Many years ago, I also had BPH. I was taking Finasteride, similar to Dutasteride. I also noticed breast enlargement which happens in 1 or 2 % of the men who take Finasteride. This is a real but rare side effect of these medications.

Hopefully, I'm one of the lucky ones!   :)
