Title: Permanent eye makeup
Post by: HappyMoni on February 10, 2018, 01:27:05 PM
I went back a few pages and didn't see this question asked. Has anyone had permanent makeup done? I was wondering about doing eye liner but didn't know if it looked weird without doing the whole ball of wax on the eye every day. Any experience would be helpful. I am so intimidated by the eyes but I think it would help my presentation.

I have been considering this and will probably do it - permanent eye liner.  I've heard it lasts a few years or more if done correctly, black eventually fades to purple.

I've also heard of permanent lipstick (basically a red tattoo) although I'm not as sure about that.  Maybe a slight color change is ok.

I had permanent eyeliner done on the top and bottom eye lid. I do like having it done it does not hurt getting it done they put numbing cream and if you hit a spot that hurts they put more you will tear up a lot and feel tired after dont do this in the morning if you work the afternoon not good you have to keep them hydrated I used tattoo goo or vaseline works also . If you wear other heavier make ups it could cover it up but if you wear light ones it will just enhance the make up Any other questions ask I may be able to help

The reason the eyeliner turns black is if if is a cheap one made with zinc, magnesium and iron those inks are also not comfortable if you have to go for an MRI

Where do you get this done and what s it cost?  Something I have heard about never looked into.  Might be something I'd do down the road.

Average cost in Canada is $400 to $800 I think it is about the same in the USA but you can check groupon they have deals on it

If my MIL is any indication. Don't do it heavy. My electrologist had it done very lightly and it looks so much better. Enhances the look instead of dominating.

general rule from a trans guy who is still to this day a huge makeup fan: you get what you pay for. 10 times out of 10 people who just go to their local tattooist with a groupon offer end up with unattractive results. looking around for the professional with the best reviews is a must. i'm also totally in agreement with dawn - when it comes to permanent eyeliner, don't do it too heavy!  ;D

I was thinking some salons would do it and would have pictures of their work. Light sounds right for someone a bit older like me.

I was going to have my eyebrows threaded as I have lost a lot of brow hair post chemo. After consulting a few places I was warned to be extremely careful as there are some excellent places but lots of not so good and it is very difficult to tell them apart.
I looked at the results of women who had gone to the recommended excellent and decided to stay with temporary solutions. Even the good excellent looked fake to the point of saying 'oh her fake eyebrows look good'.  Not sure if that makes sense!

I had my eyebrowns and eyelashes dyed.

However, I got a really bad allergic reaction and the result really didn't look very nice. My eyebrowns were red (very sexy, as it was Christmas time) and my eye lids were swollen. This for several weeks.

Yes, I had it done ... And posted a new topic (above) about it per the advice of the site.
