Title: Oh ho...
Post by: stephanie_craxford on February 11, 2006, 06:24:07 PM
Well I'm off to do an upgrade to my operating system.  So if I disappear off the face of the earth, you know that it didn't work :)

Ha, ha, no need, it worked.  I installed a new kernel patch to my Linux system.  They've always worked, but I do get nervous :)

Steph

P.S.  You could have sent a search party north, just follow your heart :)

In the military the rank of Lt. Col. is represented by a silver oak leaf. Both Lt. Colonel and Colonel are referred to as Colonel. A Lt Col. may be refrred to as a light or short Col. The emblem for a full Col is the eagle with spread wings. Hence a full Col. is often referred to as a full bird.

Dont'cha just love trivia?  ;D

I think it's hilarious when people spell the word "Kernel" instead of "Colonel".  Put those high-ranking people in their place! lol

And Steph - on the use of linux.  Your reputation just went up in my book.  ;)

Oh interesting.

Certainly is strange some of the terminology we use.

Though, I'm partial to 'rebuilding the world.' (I think I got that right) *giggle*

When I read that Kernel thing I thought hummm ???

and shrugged.

Thought I'm tired of being blond and all the jokes going over my head.
All to often growing up my family would give up trying to explain and just stuck to the same old stroy "You wouldn't understand ...never mind."

Thanks for explaining now I can HEHEHEHE too.
