I have been on HRT 3 years total ... ½ year self med and the last 2½ years with a doctors guidance. Full time for 15 months and 100% passing. I am very happy with the results so far... body shape and facial features feminization, thinner hair regrowth, loss of body mass and bulk and a C-cup. :) Only thing I am missing so far is bigger hips.

This time around about 5 years. Previously when I transitioned , I was on HRT for 9 years including living full time for just under 3 years. I de-transitioned for financial reasons (to stop becoming destitute and being outed in the UK some 30+ years ago).

Looking at the results of the poll, it looks like people use Susan's far less/stop using it once they have passed 48 months. I guess once we finish our transition a lot of girls don't return unless there's an issue or question to be raised.

7 months here. Newb! :D It was only a couple of months when I put some jeans on, thought for a sec that I'd left them in the dryer too long as they weren't loose like before; then looked in the mirror and realized I'd already filled out in the hips a bit. Recently I've noticed my feet are slightly smaller too - shrinkage of cartilage, apparently.
Slow but steady growth upstairs. Am a lot more emotionally stable now, too.
There's a member here who transitioned in her teens, in the early 1970s.

the best part of 8 years since i started HRT.
I went full time when I started HRT, it was just a convenient time in life to do both at the same time.
I love my female body, the curves, the breasts and I still love wearing the clothes..

2 years and a bit.
One year very low dose
Another year low dose
I like how Estradiol makes me feel. Especially when I'm in love. My feelings of love have changed on it. More pleasurable to be in love, more on a pink cloud,...
The euphoria with every dose is still there.
It worries me that I am so attached to my estrogen.
Hugs.

You are an inspiration to me!
25 years on HRT without SRS.
It gives me hope that longterm HRT without SRS can be an option. I was scared for health problems if I was not going to ever get SRS. An orchie sounds like a good plan for me on the middle-long term, without ever having to go through SRS. Can't imagine ever having to give up on my ladystickers ( E patches ) .

Sad but true have noticed that too over the years. Why? Cause place is so addicting, time consuming? Total "purge" like in those 'shameful' crossdressing days?
While first learned about, considered & attempted transition in late 70's (mail order for Premarin in back of forget which N.Y.C. publication) did not fully subscribe to HRT until about 2005, not long after our 2'nd child was born. Atlanta has proved to be a very trans-friendly place. First therapist exclaimed "how long"(?) and basically will approve anything I decide to do which, absolute coward that I am, has ultimately proved to be "nothing" earth shattering at all!
Meanwhile BF "W**dy" has since had an 'orchi', BA, FFS then . . . divorced and disappeared from the planet!
While not all of us are "clinically depressed" in need of extensive "psych intervention" I have noticed that some (again not all) who do "fully transition socially" - lol Non-Cowards - can often have other preexisting diagnoses, life issues as well. But of course you say what is with that? Aside from the obvious difficulties always thought of transition as the ultimate "happiness solution" rather than a major problem in itself or an underlying symptom of something "mysteriously else"? Thus shamefully (a healthy thing?) I continue to hide within a mere "shell of a woman" and reluctance to continue with "group".
"Free time" is also a huge problem! Why can't life just STOP and let us off (for a while only not permanently of course) ??

As of this writing I've been on HRT 8 months 4 days, and considering that the first 90 days were minuscule dosages, I really consider it to be just over 5 months. I am full-time, have not been misgendered by strangers in quite a while now (friends and family are another matter, but they're trying), have done all laser can do for the face and am starting electrocution on Wednesday, and have a consultation for GCS on March 16th. I am 59 years old, and time's awastin'!
Though I'm substantially older than you are, my dreams would come true if I could look anywhere as good as you in another 2 years 4 months. Considering my progress so far, I'm beginning to think there's a small possibility of that, and the thought almost brings me to tears. It's a strange new attitude for someone who had been a chronic cynical pessimist.

I've been on hrt 3 years. I've had good results. My hips, thighs and butt have filled out nicely. My boobs are almost a C cup and I'm still having some small growth spurts there. It's also made my face more feminine. It also changed my body odors and even changed my pubic hair.

@ Stephanie: Thank you very much for your kind words!!! HRT has been mostly a fun ride this last 3 years and this last year has been wonderful... my body is doing what HRT does best and I love it.
May I suggest patience with your HRT expectations?.... For me, the first 1½ years yielded less than spectacular results and then in my 3rd year finally a C cup and significant body and face changes. Of course as everyone says on here "your mileage may vary" .... HRT can affect every body differently.
I hope that you are coming out of you pessimistic shell, I am an optimist and always try to look at the bright side.
An old quote by Winston Churchill sums it up perfectly:
"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
As a final note, I sincerely hope that in your reply comment that your spell checker changed what you wrote....
Quote: "...have done all laser can do for the face and am starting electrocution on Wednesday..."
Please do not schedule yourself for electrocution !!!
Again, thanks for your nice words and thanks for your update. Looking forward to tracking your progress... and perhaps some pictures would be nice too. It is nice to see that you are a brave woman and made the significant step of going full time!! That is always a big step
Best Wishes,
Aspiringperson

I'm a large B-cup too!
It seams that younger transitioners have better boob growth.
Would it come because we have more human growth hormone?
I envy you for not needing FFS.
I pass but don't look conventionally attractive.
I wonder if I would have been prettier had I started 3 years earlier.
You had the luck of overcoming a lot of T-damage!
I need FFS.
I wonder if an orchiectomy would give enhanced feminization.

Does anyone have any thoughts on starting HRT herbally? I've begun taking two tablespoons of flax seed per day as I've read that it's a natural T inhibitor. Does anyone know if anything herbal that might increase estrogen?

Have you tried using different makeup tricks? One of the guys I work with is an awesome makeup artist as well as a hairstylist and he taught me a lot about how you can change the look of your face with layering and contouring. It's amazing what you can do with it. You can change the shape of your face, change how your nose looks and change the shape of your eyes which is my favorite, all with the right makeup techniques.

SarahFehrman: As many others have mentioned on here, for them Herbals produced minimal changes at best if at all. I did Herbals for ½ year before I started ½ year of self medicated HRT (not suggested) and then the last 2½ years under a doctors supervision. Medically supervised HRT is the safe and effective way to go in my opinion.
My doctor told me that at the higher doses, the Herbals can do more harm than good... they can upset the delicate balance in your body and affect how your liver, kidneys, pancreas and other organs work and can even cause problems with those essential organs.
All of this is just my personal experience and my personal opinion and has no bearing on what Herbals will do for any other person.
My best advice is that if you want to transition and/or change your body, get medical supervision with actual HRT drugs.
Wishing you good fortune on your transition adventure. Stay safe, treat your body well, you only have ONE of those.!!!

Hi Transfused,
I was 33 years old when I started HRT in 1998. As with so many others, my only regret is that I did not start hormones years sooner.
To be fair, the 7 year marriage that ended just prior to my HRT commitment was one of the great highlights of my life. The love that I experienced with my first wife taught me what it means to love with all my heart. I would not have wanted to miss those 7 adventurous years for anything, not even to transition earlier in life.
Love,
Miharu
