Title: Presented as female today....

Despite not being on estrogen yet, I would say I am somewhat/fairly passable. My friend and I went to the mall and I sucked up the courage and wore leggings, a girly shirt, and a bra. I also tucked the whole day and God was it exhausting. My friend is also trans and she's been presenting for over a year now, and while she was supportive, she didn't really understand why I was so insecure and why I was following her around like a puppy. Now that I look back at how I was acting, I find it kind of funny. I'm this 5'11" girl following this 5'4" girl like she's my mother. I stepped on her toe once or twice.
A lot of people were friendly, including store associates. Many people didn't even look at me. This experience has definitely made me a little bit more courageous. I am both emotionally drained and fulfilled, if that makes sense.

Congratulations! This is a big step that I myself did about a month ago. If you go out with the mindset that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, in fact, own who you are without reservation and you become just another woman out and about. Feeling afraid expresses body language that screams look at me. Relax and enjoy who you are.

The first time is really scary. The first time I did that I went to a nail salon and got a bra fitting! It was terrifying. But, as you do it more and more you realize that no cares so just get on and enjoy being you. :)

I love going out dressed fem. I've only been doing it since the beginning of February full time but on and off a bit since December when I could control some of the situations. Now that I'm in counseling and being more honest and open I find it easier to accept being out in public as a female and I don't have longer hair yet.
Wednesday after counseling I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some prescriptions and a couple other things. It was my first day out in a dress and stocking, makeup and lipstick and I figured in and out of the store and head home. Well Wednesday turned into the I'm really here moment.
While I was checking out a commotion broke out in the parking lot, seems someone's dog ran off with an unsecured bike rack attached to its leash and the dog headed under a truck and dented the truck badly, my truck.
So here I am trying to be slightly discreet and I'm now the center of attention checking the damage. Taking to witnesses and store management and filling out forms with the stora and the police.
If I wasn't certain about being out dressed I'm for sure over any fears now about it. Fear I believe is what is really holding us back and if you conquer that fear the world is yours.
Best wishes for you in your journeys to womanhood.

I'm so happy for you, fleurgirl.
When my presentation had feminized to the point of being obvious, I found salespeople very confirming and reassuring. Most of them care more about making a commission than they do about your gender. :) I acquired a lot of courage interacting with salespeople.

@ fleurgirl: That is such great news... enjoy yourself, continue to display confidence and self-assurance as you present yourself as a female, it will make passing so much easier.
Please keep us updated and perhaps post pictures if you feel comfortable doing that.
Best Wishes to you as you continue your transition journey. By the way, your Avatar picture looks terrific.

Everything I did in public for the first time was scary for me. Usually the second time is so much easier.
