Title: Facial Team Rhinoplasty Revision
Post by: Circe on March 10, 2018, 01:14:11 PM
I had FFS a year ago with Facial Team, and I'm going to need a revision for my nose.  Has anyone had a revision with them, and if so, were you satisfied?

This is why I'm seeking a revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12zH53sh-MAQirCG8Tx_OgIl62A8Sc2w3/view?usp=sharing

No I never had ffs but that's awful! My nose is like that now from falling on my face literally at 2 years old. Good luck!

Ahh this isn't the first time I've heard of FT's Rhinoplasty work being less than satisfactory.

I would get the revision done by a rhinoplasty specialist surgeon.

Goddamn it. That looks almost like a deviated septum. How did that happen? Also when did you first notice this since the ffs? Was it a gradual process where it got worsened over time? Thanks for your post!

I began to notice it about three months after surgery.  As the swelling went down it kept getting worse.  I have been told that Rhinoplasty is a little unpredictable, and that other surgeons have the same problem. I've talked to at least four other FT patients who had this happen to them, though.  I didn't find out until recently that fixing noses is actually more difficult and expensive than the original surgery.  That was depressing.  I've talked to to other surgeons and they're quoting me 10 - 15k dollars depending on whether they'll have to graft cartilage from an ear or rib.

I could save a ton of money if I got a revision from FT, but so far I haven't talked to anyone who actually went back to them.

This is worrying. I'd seen the odd complaint before, but this sounds far worse. I may have to rethink my plans.

I don't want to give the wrong impression - I don't have hard evidence that they're bad at rhinoplasty other than having talked to a few patients who had the same results I did.  I broke my nose when I was young, so my septum was deviated before I went to them.  I have no idea if that's why it healed crookedly.  My septum is fine now, it's the bottom third of my nose that's moving sideways.

I'm at FacialTeam ten weeks from now for FFS.  Forehead, jaw, nose.  In a few months we can see how mine turns out.

This is my issue with my nose. The tip on face the opposite opposite direction of the bridge of my nose. I was told by a surgeon that he would need to use a cartiladge from ear to place there to fix it.

Noses are hard to get right. I think it's one of the #1 revisioned surgeries out there.

I'm getting mine slightly tweaked in Nov 2018, which will be ~ 2 years after I had FFS. But for me it's just to adjust the tip of the nose slightly.

Oh and it was with Deschamps-Braly, not FT....so sorry no exp with them.

I had my rhinoplasty by Facial Team.  Dr. Raul Bellinga is a rhinoplasty specialist.  He did very good work reshaping my nose and correcting a deviated septum.  No need for a revision.  But, as was mentioned, the quality of results of rhinoplasty surgery will vary depending on circumstances.  Revisions are often necessary.

Dr. Bellinga will be doing the rhinoplasty portion of my FFS on May 22.

I'm having a nose revision and some forehead work with them in like 3 weeks. (I had my first rhinoplasty elsewhere) I guess we'll see  :-\

I had rhinoplasty with Bellinga/FT 5 weeks ago. So far it still looks rather good, the bridge is done well, swelling makes the nose look larger, but there is a bit of an asymmetry in the tip and the openings. I was however told to wait, as it takes a while in which it can move this way and that way.
All I was wondering though is, if on should have taped it or used a cast for longer than one week. I saw some surgeons use a cast and tape for one week but then let patients wear it during the nights for some more weeks, others only have that one week - not sure if it depends on technique, how extensive surgery is or personal faith...

Its hard to say about the revisions. On eone side, the surgeon aho had the first surgery might know better what he deals with, where he put scars and tissue last time and thus be more qualified - plus its usually less expensive. On the other hand one may tend to not trust him to do it right, if he did not manage it the first time, so thats a bit hard decision.

That's exactly my dilemma, whether to trust him to do it right the second time.  I'd save thousands, but during our Skype he said "well, some people expect perfection".  If he doesn't think it's that bad, how hard will he try to fix it?

I haven't had FFS at FacialTeam yet - that's 2-1/2 weeks from now

In 2019 I'll post several sets of photos from a 2 year span with the same lighting and no makeup (plus one set with just eye makeup and lipstick) - before HRT and FFS, and after FFS has completely healed.  I'll be posting the set of photos I sent to VirtualFFS April 2017, the photo sets edited by VirtualFFS May 2017, and same photo angles in 2019 after healing is complete from May 21 2018 FFS at FacialTeam.

My current avatar photo is pre-HRT, no photoshop, and is one of the photos I sent to VirtualFFS before editing.  I had 4 photo sets/angles done at VirtualFFS last year - 3 without any makeup and hair pulled back, and 1 set with just eye makeup & lipstick, with hair styled.  If you are wondering why there's no beard shadow I completed a lot of electrolysis before starting any of this.
