Title: pls dont judge me i just need advice
Post by: alicia46bulgaria on April 08, 2018, 10:49:21 AM
Hi i have been transitioning on E only for 6 months, my breasts have noticeably grown and have perfect definition and nipples  ( first bra was 40b last bra measuring was 40D )not bad on just E as well as the other side effects that happen as we all know BUT THIS IS WHERE I NEED ADVICE

Due to a massive change and upheaval in my life i have to stop transitioning....this leaves me with some questions that hopefully you can answer for me x  x

1. Will my breasts continue to form and grow or reduce in time?

2. is there any thing i should be worried about if i stop E with imediate effect

3. if and when my life returns to what i class as normality ( ie transition ) can i re start again

PLS DONT JUDGE ME OR ASK ME TO GO INTO THE INS AND OUTS I JUST SAT HERE HOPING TO GET SOME ANSWERS

1. Your breasts will stop developing and decrease in time even though it won't go away all the way

2. You migt experience some mood swings

3. You can stop and start hormones as many times as you need

Be careful cycling hormones. Our bodies are not meant to switch back and forth on cross sex hormones. I recommend you consult your doctor.

Many times hormones are started and reduced gradually allowing time for our endocrine system to adjust. Quick changes to HRT can cause issues.

Yes, you can go back on HRT at a later date.

There is no judgement, transition is difficult and if you are not sure it is wise to wait.

No one here to judge you. Stopping cold turkey should be discussed with a doctor for sure. Breasts are another story. There is no way at this point to know how much is fat and how much is mammary tissue. As such judging how much they may reduce or if they stop growing can only be answered with time. I have read that after 6 months they become permanent, I'm not a doctor though so I can only comment on what I have read. Again discuss it with a doctor if it' becomes a life problem for you. As for life returning to normal there is not telling how parts of you mind may be affected and you may find you would rather continue on transitioning or not, again only time will tell. Good luck either way but please do get a professional opinion even if you have to go thru another doctor if you PCP has not been involved.

One answer you didn't ask for is you may crash emotionally. If you experienced a reduction in dysphoria when you started HRT, it may hit you pretty hard when you stop.

As you didn't explain much about your situation, I am going to offer a suggestion that you can take or leave. You might discuss low dose with your doctor to slow down your transition but still keep the dysphoria under control

Don't worry about us judging your decision. It's not uncommon for people to decide their transition is going to fast or for them to stop and restart HRT multiple times. The transition should be undertaken only when your ready and there isn't any way we can determine that. The purpose of this site is to help people make the right decision and not to force them into an unwanted transition.

Alicia I am glad you are asking questions before going ahead as has been said if you must stop HRT it should be under a doctors care the physical gains that you have made will regress somewhat however the emotional distress can be extreme be prepared for this and have what ever support you have available I have been off Hrt for almost 5 months now it has bee very difficult thanks to support from my family and friends and the wonderful people here I am surviving this difficult time if you need support feel free to PM me anytime I wish you the best in this difficult time

I think it's important to make whatever decision that you feel is best for you. No one should or can judge. I know I can't I barely can even make a decision lately, let alone a well thought out one.
