I know Peter Raphael in Texas has a 320 pound lady in his big book of examples.

It's not ideal, but it can be done and apparently he did it at least once.

I'm curious about this too because I keep reading that your BMI has to be under 26. Mine was 35 , now it's 30.5. But I still have to lose 20 pounds. ( So far I've lost 30 pounds.)

Virtually all of the surgeons have long waiting times. They have pools of candidates to choose from. It's in your best interest to do everything you can to make yourself the best qualified candidate.  :)

I consulted with Dr. Sherman Leis in PA, and from my understanding he works on slighty overweight patients.  I think Dr. Keelee MacPhee in NC does as well.  I'll be honest though, I'm not impressed with these surgeons work personally.  If you loose weight, and your BMI is under 26 (or the required BMI for that surgeon) many more doors will open for you.
