Title: Not passing and swimming

Hi friends 🙋♀️ Summer is quickly approaching. Swimming, frolicking on the beach and suntanning we now may need to contend with.......breasts.
I personally identify as gender fluid, and can be comfortable in either gender mode.
After 9 months on hrt I have developed what are obvious breasts, but I feel I don't pass as a woman well enough to be comfortable in a woman's swim suit, especially around friends that are unaware. We have a pool and won't mind swimming topless when alone, but there will be times that I will need to cover up while in male mode.
Any suggestions? Swim shirt's are fairly snug and it will be like a wet t shirt contest, so I'm in a quandary.
Hugs and smiles, Jessica 💁♀️

@ Jessica, I had been there and done that, you are right about the wet-t shirt contest scenario. Dark colored or even Black t-shirts will work the best and even wearing two of them one over the other. Also with a loose fitting dark or black t-shirt you should be able to wear a fairly snug (not white) sports bra under the t-shirt(s) without the sports bra or straps predominately showing.
Soon enough, it will get to the point that you don't care if someone stares at you and your obvious breasts while still in male mode..... then when you can finally go Full-Time, if that is what you want to do, you won't have to worry about any of this any longer...... it is indeed a fun and exciting journey... and can be frustrating too... and sometimes takes longer than we wish to reach our transitioning goals. Please keep smiling!!! :)
Hugs,
Danielle

If you are comfortable in boy mode then get a rash guard. They are thick and made of wetsuit material and will hide breasts if not too large. Last summer when I was not quite passable I went to the beach in short shorts and a camisole top and no one cared. So really you have options in either presentation.

Been there. Rash guard and just rock it. People didn't even notice last summer (last season here) Now? I'd just wear a womens swim suit with a skirt.

I wore a nylon rash guard at first. It worked ok until my breasts got to be a handful.
Today, when I am required to wear a swim suit, I just wear a speedo tank suit.

I just googled different rash guards and they seem perfect. I might do the same.

I'm still scared to go out swimming. I don't even own a swimsuit yet, but I know that I pass *most* of the time. I'm really not sure if I should just yolo it. I really don't want to look stupid in front of god knows how many people.

When going swimming in a public place when my changes first started, I would wear a simple bikini under a dark t shirt and found that no one really paid me any mind. The issue was not the boobs, it was the incessantly rock hard nipples that would poke out...hence, the double top. Eventually you reach the point where is does not matter and then you get to work on a cool tan all the time :)

+1 for rash guard. I also found a "boy short style" bikini, so when in a public pool I would wear the boy short bikini bottom and a rash guard. No one really blinked and eye. This was my outfit while I did not pass at all. I think a few people where confused due to my painted toenails.
Now that I am a bit more bold, I did go to a public pool with a tankini top and the said boy shorts. The tankini has some lightly padded cups which takes care of nipples.
One thing I still do not do is the ladies locker room. I either dress at home or I try to find a family / unisex changing room.
I do tuck however tuck things away (so I pretty much wear a nylon panty 2 numbers to small below which makes it uncomfortable but it looks better).
Lucky enough I do have access to a private pool too, so I can wear everything I want (or just nothing, but now I hate the dangling).

I am at the point in my life where it is no longer possible for me to even dream about passing. But who cares? Not me. I am perfectly happy in a bikini or one-piece that is fem, or being topless in shorts and letting it all hang out.
My preferred swimwear remains my skin!
Just whatever it takes to get out and have fun getting wet!

I am dealing with this right now as I am doing Aquatic Physical Therapy...I feel even more exposed since my therapist knows me well, and yet I am not out to her. I have been wearing a rash guard shirt, but my boobs are getting too large and they are definitely showing through even that. The other day I was in the pool, looked down and the water line was at the height of my breasts and it was so obvious to me...I quickly dipped down, but...ARGH!
I am looking for a tank suit that is thick and streamlined like swimmers wear in the hopes that wearing that under a rash guard shirt and trunks will work!
THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!
Marcie :)

The last time I needed to cover up I had on a workout bikini top from TYR with an oversized swim shirt.
The workout top will flatten you out and the swim shirt will hide it.
For the bottom, I was wearing board shorts.

I mostly swim at the University pool and pre-op I accepted my breasts were large but had no interest in wearing a femme cut suit as tucking wasn't my bag I simply wore the triathlon shorts I've been using for swimming for the last decade (I've come in for some body shaming when wearing a Speedo). I wasn't wild about disrobing and walking on the pool deck topless but we all look the same in the water :-).
Post-op it's been the reciprocal. I don't pass however there's nothing to tuck so I now wear either a Tyr maillot or tankini and again I don't feel great on the pool deck but in the water all women pretty much look the same :-)

Thank you ladies for all your advice. I do have several rash guard shirts, but I may need to find a baggier one.
On a side note... the night after I posted this I had a dream that I looked down at the baggy shirt I was wearing and noticed it was farther out in front. Then noticed that I had "headlights"! In my dream I had D+ breasts. I'm a C now, maybe a glimpse of the future..?

Last time I went swimming it was always in a dark color tee shirt. This work but the girls are way to big for that now. I have a couple one piece speedo suits with padded cups to hide the pointies. More than comfortable with that. Still feeling weird using the ladies change rooms as the boy bits are still evident

This is what I am dealing with. There is a thin bit of padding on top, but most of that is me. I'm happy, but I do need to dress modestly in boy and girl modes.

Hello All, 21 Apr 2018
Being a nudist and a member of a naturist resort, I'm not too worried...as yet. I don't have noticeable boobs but Willy is missing his two buddies. The only thing remaining of them is the shrunken empty sack they occupied. It's still a ways until hot weather arrives. I think I'll wait until everything heals completely and has shrunk as much as practical. I'll do a bit of nude tanning in my backyard to prepare before I go. It'll be interesting to say the least. Will let you know how it went when that day arrives, probably mid May.
I just checked the temp of the two pools, they are 79° and 78° respectively and the outside temp is 58°; much too cold for my liking. Once we hit 85° I'm off and running.
Wishing you all a happy summer and fun at the beach/pool.
Best Always,
Christine

When I was pre-op I would wear a rash guard and board shorts (make sure you protect your nipples if you surf or boogie board). Last summer no water. This summer I have a nice one piece I really like and will be going to Rehoboth :) . I do not pass and am 6'2". I am female and will just be me.

You are absolutely beautiful; some of the prettiest ladies I have ever laid-eyes on were taller than me.
Looked up Rehoboth, looks like a fun place. Nice beaches, ocean, Bandstand and its concerts, and the City of Rehoboth Beach. The Costal Delaware Running Festival started yesterday.
What are "Board shorts;" never heard the term until today.
If your height bothers you just say you are 5' 14". Almost every time I fill out a form that requires personal data I list my height as 4' 21" and my birth year as 1840. Hardly anyone ever questions me on the age; guess it's because I look that old.
I used to be 4' 23" but have managed to shrink a couple inches over the past 15 years.
Trust me Rachel, you are a Lady and you will be fine.
Best Always, Love,
Christine
