Title: questions about sex and fertility
Post by: kaitlin4599 on May 01, 2018, 08:07:17 AM
ok so i am a male to female transgender pre-op im 37 have been on estradiol since jan of 2013. a while ago i met an amazing women who became my girlfriend she knows im trans and is very supportive, but she is not fond of condoms or protection in general. my question is what are the chances i am an infertile transgender due to the estrogen pills i take and is there anyway to know if i am infertile without expensive testing of my sperm? she wants to be intimate but im unsure as idk if we are ready for a baby if it happens

might try to talk her into going on birth control but in the event she doesnt want to go on BC how do i figure out if my sperm is sterile

Are you on estrogen only, or also androgen blocker? I don't know if estrogen alone will make you infertile, you probably need to add androgen blocker.

Unfortunately there is no 100 % guarantee, even with T blockers in the mix unless you opt for a surgical option (anything from cutting the cords to orchie).

The likelihood is dramatically decreased on a combination.

You can get your sperm tested, but even that
only goes so far since it can change on a daily basis.

Hard to guess. As Sarah pointed out, there is no 100% guarantee without surgery, but t blocker for a few months may not be enough even combined with estrogen.
