Title: Estrogen Levels

Hello ladies,
What I would like to know if my levels are in range as I started on Estradiol tablets at a transition dose split up to 4x per day and then switched to Estradiol Valerate after 5 months to injections. As I have seen great progress after started EV Intramuscular injections and finally had my 2nd levels checked. My levels were 942H or 0.49pg/ml as I think my .49pg/ml is at great range and was told by another trans person to cut my dosage every week until my levels drop. Tell me if I should drop my dosage as my doctor informed me my levels are in standard for the 7 months. Your reply would be helpful... thanks ephoria

Welcome back again. I am on the pills myself. I do not know much about injections myself so I cannot help with details there. I think the target levels are pretty much the same across the various delivery methods. However, there is quite a wide variations in target levels between doctors. Some do not even go by levels but rather how the patient feels. Also levels vary by time lapsed from when it was administered and the Lab draw. My own GP wants me around 200 pg/ml.
If you like and trust your doctor then I would recommend following their advice. Be careful with advice from others that are not doctors or otherwise qualified to provide medical advice.

As Laurie stated, there is a wide variety of opinions from Doctors, my OBGYN isn't concerned about checking my levels, my GP thinks levels matter and I agree with him, so he does the blood work and let's my OB handle the Estrogen script. It works for me because I live in an area that has no other providers that handle this kind of care, the next nearest is a 6 hour drive.
Keep in mind this isn't a perfected science, even in CIS females levels vary by very wide margins, so it's a bit of knowledge mixed in with a bit of personal opinion.
I do the injections, this was decided on after a in depth discussion with my Dr about my medical history, the pros and cons of each route, as well as each med. I can't stress enough the importance of a nformed discussion based on medical facts not opinions. My advice is to talk to your provider about your concerns, ask questions until you are comfortable with what is being said; that doesn't mean you have to agree 100%, it means you need to understand his position. Advocate for yourself Hun.

Following Doctor order is critical for medical transition, since Doctor work with Endocrine to monitor changing of one internal body. I saw many changes dosage of hormones medication for quick results and end in ER because of medical issue. That why I seen many Endocrine refuse to treat Transgender because of this self medication.

Many transgender patients average Estradiol blood levels are about 200 pg/ml. If yours is 0.49 pg/ml, then you are very low even for a cis male. Recheck your blood levels and the units for your blood levels.
Another unit of measure is pmol/L which should be almost 4 times the pg/ml for the same blood level.
I do not know what 942H means.
